How to easily farm many runes in Elden Ring in the early game

An excellent method for easily farming many runes in the early game can be found in the region of Greyoll’s Dragon Hill. You can actually reach this region much later in the game, but you can already visit it as a beginner almost immediately after the tutorial dungeon.

This is the farming route:

• Go to the location of the Third Church of Marika. This is northeast of the tutorial dungeon. You can reach it fastest and easiest once you have your horse.
• A little further northeast of the Third Church of Marika, a teleporter is hidden in the bushes. You can see its exact location on the map in these images:

• The teleporter takes you further northeast to the region of Greyoll’s Dragon Hill.
• Turn around from the starting position and walk down the stairs, and ride your horse down the hill until you reach a bridge.
• Do not go onto the bridge, but look for a site of grace left before the bridge.
• Activate the site of grace.
• Make your way back from the site of grace to the stairs, and kill all the enemies dressed in black on the way.

• Each of these enemies gives you 1094 runes.
• These enemies may kill you quickly in the early game, but they are very easy to defeat. Try to sneak up on them or simply attack them repeatedly with a light attack, and they will hardly be able to defend themselves.
• After about 7 defeated enemies, it’s worth returning to the site of grace.
• When you interact with the site of grace, the enemies respawn, and you can take them out again.

With this method, you can collect about 200,000 runes in an hour, depending on your own pace and regular success.
