The Katana Bloody Streams has a controversial reputation in the community of Elden Ring. On one hand, it is one of the most popular weapons in the game, while on the other hand, many consider it far too powerful, especially in PvP. The Souls expert PeevePeeverson has now built a build to seriously challenge players using the Katana.
Why is Bloody Streams so powerful? The Katana primarily relies on bleed damage. This status effect is very powerful against most opponents in both PvE and PvP.
Additionally, Bloody Streams has a powerful ash of war that allows you to execute strong combos and defeat opponents in PvP with just a few hits. As a bonus, it inflicts extra fire damage alongside the physical base damage and the bleed effect.
The builds centered around the Katana have been dominating especially in PvP for some time. This makes it popular and hated in the community, as many use it while others criticize that most players only use this Katana.
The Souls expert and YouTuber PeevePeeverson has now shared a clip and a build on Twitter, which he created to show users of Bloody Streams that the meta weapon doesn’t provide much benefit.
“The Orphan” is a build against groups and Bloody Streams users, focusing on heavy weapons
What kind of build is this? Peeve refers to the build as a “group-hunting horror build” that is particularly suitable against users of Bloody Streams. This build is called “The Orphan” – the orphaned child. Accordingly, this build looks quite peculiar:
The main strengths are the high robustness of 628, which protects against status effects like bleed and frost, and 100 poise, allowing you to not be interrupted by the Katana’s skill.
Other popular weapons like the Naginata with Seppuku ash of war cannot compete with the build, according to Peeve.
Here are his equipment and attributes: In the clip, Peeve is at Rune level 167. Thus, he can invade all players from level 150, as the level range for invasions includes -10% and +10% of your level.

In fact, the build is unable to perform a quick dodge roll. You will therefore be relatively slow, which, given the high robustness and poise, is not a significant drawback.
Thanks to the Winged Crystal Tear, which he can use through the potion mix, he can significantly increase his equip load for 3 minutes. This time is usually more than enough for an invasion. You can find the Crystal Tear north of the capital Leyndell, right on a rock wall.

- He wears the set of the dung eater, the armor of the curse. This is a very heavy armor with high poise and high robustness. You get this when you complete the NPC’s quest. By the way, you also unlock another ending with it.
- For weapons, he uses Godfrey’s Axe in the left hand and the Infernal Prelate staff, which also received very good ratings in our tier list.
- As talismans, he has equipped the Goat Talisman, the Claw Talisman, the Alexander Shard, and the Horn Charm Talisman.
- For summons, he uses “Flame, grant me strength!” and Golden Barrier, his seal is the one of the Raging Flame.
- For fallback, he also has the Spiral Shield in case he needs to parry.
Peeve claims to have taken out numerous surprised Bloody Streams players in one hit and that the build works fantastically against such weapons.
How is the build received? In the numerous tweets under the build, players express their happiness that there is an effective way to break the annoying Katana meta. At least partially.
Free_Man writes: “Thanks for showing that this game can be fun in PvP without following this bullshit meta.”
Peeve emphasizes here, however, that he has no problem with players primarily using meta weapons. In response to a player who no longer dares to play Bloody Streams because so many complain, he writes:
“Don’t worry too much. People complain anyway, no matter what you play, so just do your thing anyway.”
