Elden Ring: Nightreign has not been out long, but promises fans upcoming content and features, giving players a reason to be excited for the future. One of these features is something fans have been demanding since the release.
What have fans demanded? Elden Ring: Nightreign launched with two modes – the Trio and Solo mode. However, those who want to team up as a duo must either add a random player or be out of luck.
Although implementing such an additional mode seems sensible, it was not planned for the release. Many fans find this puzzling, as not everyone has two friends to play with, and those who want to play solo will have a hard time.
But fans no longer need to hope for a duo mode, as it is already in development, as a new post from FromSoftware has stated.
A look at future content for Nightreign
What has FromSoftware announced? In a post on X, the developers from FromSoftware thanked fans for their interest once again. They managed to sell 3.5 million copies and are pleased with the game’s success. Additionally, they also provided a glimpse of future content for Elden Ring: Nightreign. The following could be gathered:
- Clarification that a DLC is expected to be released this year
- A two-player mode is also expected to be implemented
- Release date unclear
- Improved versions of the existing Night Lords are to be introduced
- The meaning of this remains unclear. Adjustments may be possible as they are too difficult.
Why was there no duo mode at release? In an interview with IGN, Game Director Junya Ishizaki stated that they did not consider the duo mode for release. The reason for this was the enemies and parameters that need to be adjusted.
Depending on the group composition when traveling to Limveldt, the enemies need to be made harder or easier. There is a special system that scales your enemies and bosses. So it remains to be seen how difficult the mode will be in duo. However, many agree that Nightreign is challenging – especially if you want to try it solo: I defeated the final boss of Elden Ring: Nightreign solo because no one wanted to help me – Here’s what I learned
