In Elden Ring: Nightreign there are special events that redesign a run through a modified map with new areas and hidden rewards. Those wondering what happens on the map or how to earn trophies in these events will learn more in this guide.
What is Shifting Earth in Nightreign? Shifting Earth is a world event characterized by a changed area of the map, new paths, bosses, and rewards during a run.
Information about an activated Shifting Earth and which of the 4 possible events it is will be given before starting a new run. However, these events are only temporary and will be available for 3 to 4 runs, then they will disappear.
If you’re not interested in the event, you can lie down in a bed in the Round Table Hold and simply “sleep through” the Shifting Earth event.
There are a total of 4 possible events, of which one can take effect. Each Shifting Earth includes its own task:
- Go to the area of the Shifting Earth
- Navigate through the area to the reward
- Find the hidden blessing
After completing a Shifting Earth, you will receive a trophy. If you have completed all 4 events, you will earn an additional trophy: “Shifting Earth – Unraveled the Secrets of All Locations of the Shifting Earth”

Crater (North of the Map)
- Requirement: You have defeated the first Nightlord Gladius.
- Recommended Level: Level 8 or higher
- Required Bosses: Fire Prelates and Magma Lindworm
- Approximate Duration: One full day (we recommend the second day)
The crater is a volcanic-like lava area where two bosses will await you. To receive the reward, you must enter the crater, try not to burn in the lava, defeat both bosses, and then open the legendary chest found in the area of the second boss as your reward.
Reward: You can upgrade any weapon to “Legendary”.
Mountain Peak (Northwest of the Map)
- Requirement: You have defeated three different Nightlords.
- Recommended Level: Level 10 or higher
- Required Bosses: None
- Approximate Duration: One full day (we recommend the second day)
The mountain peak is a snowy, frost-covered mountain that you must climb to the top. For this, you need to run over huge chains, avoid enemies (because in this event you are not required to defeat any enemy or boss for the reward), and finally grab the blessing at the summit.
Reward: You will gain increased frost resistance and deal additional damage against dragons.
Rotting Forests (Southeast of the Map)
- Requirement: You have defeated 5 different Nightlords.
- Recommended Level: Level 10 or higher
- Required Bosses: None
- Approximate Duration: One full day (we recommend the second day)
In this variant of the Shifting Earth, you need to enter a reddish rotting forest that increasingly afflicts you with Scarlet Rot. Therefore, heal regularly and try to ignore enemies to quickly navigate through this area.
In a fortress in the forest, you will find a treasure map in the tower roof that leads you to a large tree. This will then be shown on the map with a red flag. On this tree, you must climb along the branches until you find the reward on a flower.
Reward: You will become permanently immune to Scarlet Rot, gain increased maximum HP, and can restore some HP with an attack after taking damage yourself.
Naklateo, the Veiled City (Southwest of the Map)
- Requirement: You have defeated 7 different Nightlords.
- Recommended Level: Level 8 or higher
- Required Bosses: Astel, Offspring of the Abyss
- Approximate Duration: One full day (we recommend the second day)
The veiled city of Naklateo is a large area full of corridors and tunnels through which you must work your way to the reward. You only need to defeat the boss at the end and can ignore all other enemies before that. After defeating the boss, you will receive your reward from a chest.
Reward: You will automatically be resurrected once after your death.
