In Elden Ring: Nightreign has 8 playable characters at launch, but only 6 of them are available at the start – the Countess is not one of them. We will show you how to unlock this class in our guide.
How do I unlock the Countess? To unlock the Countess, you must first visit the Round Table Hold and complete the tutorial. At the Round Table Hold, a masked woman in a white cloak will greet you – that is the Countess.
She is no longer a fighter, but you can change that by finding the item “Old Pocket Watch” during your expeditions and handing it to her.
How do I find the Old Pocket Watch? To find the pocket watch, you must complete the expedition of “Tricephalos” once – victory or defeat does not matter. After completion, you will receive the Old Pocket Watch as your reward.
With the pocket watch in your possession, go to the Round Table Hold and speak with the Countess in the white cloak. You now have the option to hand her the Old Pocket Watch or keep the item.
The item is a relic, so one might think that you would lose it if you hand it over to the Countess. But don’t worry – you can hand over the pocket watch and still use the relic in your build at the relic rites.
After handing over the item, a small cutscene will be unlocked, where the Countess gets ready for the fight against the night. Now you have unlocked the Countess.
How do I change my character? To change the character, you can access your map of the Round Table Hold and then select the menu item “Character Selection”. A new menu will open, and you can switch your heroes.
Heroes can only be changed at the special bell in the main room of the Round Table Hold. You cannot change your character in the match.
Those were all the details about how you can unlock the Countess. Besides the Countess, there is also the heroine “Specter” that can also be unlocked. We will show you how to achieve that in our guide: Elden Ring Nightreign: How to unlock the Specter (Revenant) as a class
