Elden Ring: Crossplay between PC, Xbox, and PS5 – Is that possible?

Elden Ring has some multiplayer components like co-op and PvP. This raises the question for many: Can I also play via crossplay with friends on other platforms? MeinMMO tells you.

What is crossplay? This feature allows you to play multiplayer with other players across platforms in many games. For example, you can play on PC with friends who are on PlayStation or Xbox.

For several years now, this feature has been found in more and more multiplayer titles. However, it was not present in earlier games from Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. The Dark Souls series did not offer crossplay, despite co-op and PvP.

Unfortunately, one must also point out that Elden Ring offers only a very limited crossplay feature.

Elden Ring has CrossGen multiplayer, but no crossplay between PC and console

Does Elden Ring have crossplay? Not really. While PS4 and PS5 players can play together, the same goes for Xbox Series and Xbox One players.

However, there is no crossplay function that allows joint play between PC and consoles, and Xbox players cannot play with PlayStation players.

Will there ever be crossplay added later? Looking at the Dark Souls series and its multiplayer, you shouldn’t count on it.

Especially the PC version is likely to be excluded. Hackers are particularly prevalent in the multiplayer of Dark Souls, as can be seen in various clips on YouTube (via YouTube).

Thanks to these modifications, which in some form already exist in Elden Ring shortly after release, it is likely that the PC version will not have crossplay in the future as well.

On consoles, this problem would not exist, at least. Nevertheless, it is not expected that Elden Ring will make crossplay possible between PlayStation and Xbox in the future.

There are also no hints or statements from developer FromSoftware or publisher Bandai Namco that crossplay will be implemented later. Therefore, it can be assumed that there will be no crossplay feature for Elden Ring in the future.
