For a few days now, Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm has been streaming again on YouTube. However, not everyone is pleased with his return after his controversy, and when he plays the new Valve shooter Deadlock in the livestream, the teammates quickly leave the game.
Why does no one want to play with DrDisrespect? DrDisrespect has struggled with a controversy in recent months that jeopardized his career as an influencer and cost him all his partnerships. The reason for his Twitch ban in 2020 was revealed by former Twitch employee Cody Conners.
The streamer allegedly exchanged inappropriate messages with a minor using Twitch’s whisper function. DrDisrespect partly admitted this accusation on X, only to deny it again after his 74-day “vacation” upon his return.
All these events have resulted in a divided community. One side still stands behind the streamer and believes him completely, while the other condemns him harshly.
For a long time, no one knew why DrDisrespect had been banned and there were many theories:
Players leave the match when they see who they are playing with
What allegedly happened in the stream? DrDisrespect was checking out Deadlock for the first time and initially played through the tutorial. Then he started his first rounds with other players.
In one match, everything was running normally at first. However, a message appeared in the top right corner: “You can now leave the match without receiving a penalty.”
This means the other players on the team had already abandoned the game. The probable reason why DrDisrespect was suddenly alone: When the players realized who they had landed in a round with, they quickly left the match. At least, that’s what the account Deadlock Intel concluded and posted it on X.
Under the post, some mocking and scornful comments can be read:
- “The bro thinks he can just meme his way out of the Epstein allegations”
- “Maybe the bots are playing with him”
This is how others see it: Another user on X counters this and doubts the representation of Deadlock Intel.
He says that this was not DrDisrespect’s first round and that the players did not leave the match out of protest against DrDisrespect, but that there were connection issues.

What does this mean now? One thing is clear: The online community is divided when it comes to DrDisrespect. The streamer is still a hot topic of discussion. His plan to simply continue streaming as if nothing has happened is not appealing to many observers.
