The well-known streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm is making headlines again. Not with a ban or platform change, but with a troll tweet against mobile gamers. They are now challenging him.
Here’s what’s happening: On Twitter, Dr Disrespect takes aim at mobile gamers and boasts about his multi-PC setup worth $200,000. He has 3 top-of-the-line monitors with 1 ms response time, a mechanical keyboard with optical switches, and a mouse that weighs almost nothing. And mobile gamers really want to claim that mobile gaming is a serious thing?
Obviously a troll post that aims to provoke. Dr Disrespect has often expressed himself against mobile gamers, but he has also apologized for it in streams.
However, the price of his multi-PC setup should already raise some eyebrows. $200,000 is a lot of money. Nevertheless, Dr Disrespect owns a true monster and has already presented his $10,000 setup in more detail.
Mobile gamers challenge Dr Disrespect
Dr Disrespect’s tweet is causing waves and mobile gamers are responding to the streamer’s statement. There are several comments defending mobile gaming. Especially people who can’t afford an expensive PC setup or a console turn to a smartphone. But challengers are also speaking up.
Here are the challengers: Two notable mobile gamers are taking a stand against Dr Disrespect’s statement and directly challenging him. One is Elijah Jackson, a content creator for the mobile esports organization Tribe Gaming, who is putting $10,000 in the pot and challenging Doc to CoD Mobile.
On the other hand, Ferg is also challenging Doc, a member of Tribe Gaming, who has already provided numerous useful tips for CoD Mobile. Ferg is even offering $100,000 for a 1v1 in CoD Mobile, allowing Dr Disrespect to compete on his PC.
Dr Disrespect, on the other hand, has not yet responded to any of these requests. In a more recent tweet, he continues to vent against mobile gamers and asks how anyone can even stream via OBS using a smartphone.
What Dr Disrespect plans to do to get the mobile community up in arms, or whether he will actually take on the challenges, remains to be seen. We’ll keep you updated.
