Diablo 4 receives a new class, and veterans already know it; it even comes with an old limitation

What is this class? Diablo 4 introduces the Amazon, a new iconic class that previously existed in Diablo 2. Back then, she was part of the five original starting classes and specialized in handling bows, crossbows, spears, and javelins.

In Diablo 4, she expands the class selection and brings not only the bow she wields but also the javelin as a new weapon type. All aspects of the class are based on four archetypes that define their playstyles.

Amazon in Diablo 4: Release & Price

When will the class be available in Diablo 4? The Amazon is expected to be released in the first half of 2027 in Diablo 4. Whether this will happen right at the beginning of the year or move more towards summer remains to be seen. So we still have to wait a little longer until we can slash through Sanctuary with the iconic warrior.

How much will the class cost? The exact price is still unclear. According to Blizzard, the class will come within a class package for Diablo 4. The class package with the Necromancer in Diablo 3 cost about 15 euros and included not only the new class but also cosmetics, loot stash slots, and character slots.

Amazon in Diablo 4: Archetypes

What archetypes are there? According to Blizzard, the Amazon is said to possess four archetypes:

• The Champion: The melee fighter with sword and shield uses buff effects to enhance herself and her allies.
• The Trickster: A nimble and agile fighter who tears apart her foes with the javelin as quickly as she disappears.
• The Huntress: A tactical precision archer who targets and takes down her opponents from a distance.
• The Commander: A general who dominates the battlefield with an army of Valkyries under her command.

Amazon in Diablo 4: Gameplay

How does the class play? The Amazon is primarily a well-disciplined warrior who can also rely on her mystical connection to her Amazon sisters and Askari ancestors for magical assistance when needed. How the class will specifically play in Diablo 4 remains to be seen.

In Diablo 2, the Amazon already stood out for her versatility, as she could deal both physical and magical damage. Popular builds in Diablo 2: Resurrected were:

• The Bowazon for physical damage at range, especially against groups
• The Javazon as an absolute boss killer with extreme lightning damage

The description for Diablo 4 suggests that it will be similar. In the YouTube livestream at BlizzCon, the developers explained that the Amazon utilizes all elements, including poison, cold, fire, and lightning damage, up to physical damage. Moreover, javelins come into play that resemble the Javazon build from Diablo 2.

The development team wanted to consciously balance her magic and physical strength. Unlike sorceresses, who conjure fireballs out of nowhere, the Amazon’s power comes from her Askari ancestors. This combat experience and rigorous training intertwine to create a power deeply rooted in her sisterhood.

According to Blizzard, the Amazon is meant to look strong and agile without being bulky like other tanky classes such as the Paladin. She offers a good balance between armor and mobility, ranking somewhere between spirit-born and Paladin. She is so fit that she does not lose agility in any action.
