In Helldivers 2, the developers released a major update without prior notice. They added three very special planets.
What kind of update is this? Without any prior notice, the developers of Helldivers 2 have added three new planets to the game. On December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM German time, the developers released a video about the update, giving players their new orders.
There, the Ministry of Truth explains that the faction of Automatons, the robots in the game, are sourcing their resources for building new troops from three worlds. These planets need to be conquered accordingly, but they’re not easy to handle.
The three new planets belong to the current expansion that leads deep beneath the surface of the planets:

What kind of planets are these? On the new planets, the Helldiver faces the fires of hell itself. The three new planets “Fury,” “K,” and “Mox” are magma planets. It is extremely hot there, the opposite of winter in Germany right now.
However, the magma worlds have many valuable ores that should contribute to the Over-Earth account instead of the robots using the ores for producing new units. Yet, alongside the enemies, the Helldivers can also expect some environmental events that could end fatally on such an extreme planet.
What are the orders? The Helldivers are to bring all three planets under their control within the next 7 days. All three planets are now available in the game and can be accessed directly. The first brave warriors are already reporting from their missions.
How is the update being received by the players? As the update has only been live for a few hours at the time of writing, there are only first impressions from the players. Players are writing on Reddit:
- Mltv416: “This planet is honestly great. The objectives feel intense as you not only have to avoid rivers of magma, but also the bots who are indifferent to it. The scenery is absolutely cinematic – lava is flowing everywhere, orbital strikes are raining down, and laser shots are flying around. With the new minigun, it’s even cooler to face the bots; thanks to its medium penetration power, it’s surprisingly effective on the front lines.”
- tofu_bird: “I just finished a mission, it was glorious. The combination of a jetpack and a chainsaw on top of a Hulk was just amazing.”
Even in the YouTube comments, there is a report of experience:

The difficulty level seems well chosen, and the obstacles with the lava that stand in the way of the Helldivers appear to suit the players well. The reference to the lava planet Mustafar from Star Wars is also recurring.
