The developers of Bohemia Interactive have been on Steam for 15 years. The head of the development studio takes this opportunity to thank Valve and releases the company’s sales figures.
Who is it about? Marek Spanel is the CEO of Bohemia Interactive. The development studio behind Arma and the subsequent zombie simulation DayZ has been on Steam since June 1, 2009.
At launch, the Czech development studio sold only 174 copies of Arma 2 on Steam. This was reported by the CEO of the company on X.com. Arma 2 is also the game that the legendary zombie simulation DayZ originated from as a mod.
On the occasion of the belated 15th anniversary of the company, the CEO also reveals the current sales figures of the games on Steam until the present year 2024 and thanks Valve, the operators of the platform.

Millions of games sold
How many games has the company sold so far? Today, 15 years after its founding, Bohemia Interactive has sold 40,933,454 units on Steam itself. The CEO does not specify which games make up which sales share. It is also possible that expansions and DLCs are included in the statistics.
6,327,383 units have been sold through retail and activated on Steam. This likely includes codes purchased on third-party websites.
In total, the Czech development studio has sold 47,260,837 units that are played on Steam. According to Steam, 92 products are now part of Bohemia Interactive’s catalog.
How is it going at Bohemia Interactive? The developers of the Arma series have been releasing new games repeatedly for years. There is also no holding back with DLCs for DayZ; just recently, a new map called DayZ Frostline was released, where players need to pay much more attention to survival.
Especially the low temperatures require new clothing and some stays by a campfire. In Arma itself, the developers are adapting to the new Enfusion Engine, which they are further developing with the current title “Arma Reforger.”
