Now to the first weapon on this list that is not a primary weapon: Trespasser. This is an exotic sidearm that made waves even before the launch of “Rise of Iron.” It came with update 2.4.0 just days before the RoI DLC was launched. Guardians sought to get this weapon from exotic engrams and test it early.
The Trespasser belongs to the pistol archetype with high impact and low fire rate. Range, stability, and reload speed are above average:
What’s special about the Trespasser are the perks Be the Danger (projectile shots with deadly precision) and Not Remorseful (reload after a kill gives a longer, more powerful supershot).
After initial curiosity, it turned out that the “Trespasser” would not become a new overpowered weapon. One reason is that pistols still occupy a niche in Destiny. Perhaps this will change with update 2.5.0.2: Players will lose all special ammo in PvP when they die. Pistols remain the exception: At spawn, you still have ammo for them. As special ammo becomes rarer, pistols could become more interesting.
Since many Guardians wanted to try out this new weapon themselves, the Trespasser lands at rank 2 on the list. 36,923 votes and 9.95% of total votes in Year 3.
