This is what happened this week in Destiny 2: It’s apparent that Bungie is still on Christmas break. This week, there was almost nothing happening in Destiny 2. There wasn’t even a “This week at Bungie,” only the weekly reset came, but it brought little new content. Instead, it removed some goodies that expired with the new year:
- the Dawning is over
- the triple valor points are gone
- Lord Saladin has also disappeared with an Iron Banner.
The highlight next week is that the 4th Forge is supposed to open. That will happen on Tuesday, when new exotic items might come to Destiny. They are known to be the favorite toys of every Guardian.

Today, Friday, Xur returns to Destiny 2 once again. This will be his first appearance in the new year 2019.
Some optimistic Guardians hope that Xur might already have “new exotic items” in stock, the good stuff from Forsaken. But the probability of that is pretty low. Only in Season 6 could there be an upgrade – unless Bungie surprises us today.
When is Xur coming today? Xur will arrive on Friday evening at 6:00 PM.
How long will Xur stay? He will be there until Tuesday, January 8th, also at 6:00 PM.
