This evening, Season 22 of Destiny 2 has begun. MeinMMO summarizes everything you need to know about the activities this week.
What’s happening this week: A new seasonal story awaits the Guardians and this is already Season 22 in Destiny 2. The goal: to resurrect Savathûn from the dead, and this can only be done with the help of her Taken spirit Immaru and with the help of Eris Morn.
- To follow the Witness, Eris Morn must engage in Taken magic and accept a deal that Savathûn negotiated before her death. To uphold our part of the agreement, Guardians must become Masters of the Arcane.
Furthermore, players can expect far-reaching changes:
- Season 22 will offer another new story mission for the Lightfall DLC and seasonal activities.
- The structure of Season 22 will also be fundamentally changed, optimizing the ritual playlists.
- A new Exo-mission rotator will come into play, offering new craftable Exo weapons.

Nightfall
- The Lightblade, in Savathûn’s Throne World
- Players will fight against the “Lightblade” in the Nightfall strike this week. He is seen as Oryx’s potential successor and can move at a significant speed when he is angry. Defeat him before he uses the Light for nefarious purposes.
Crucible – This is the rotating PvP activity
- In the first week of the season, the two modes Rift and Momentum Control will be running in PvP.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Rotations
Farmable endgame in weekly rotation: In the further course of the endgame, the Legacy rotations await.
Both the rotation raid, the rotation dungeon, and the exotic rotation missions are farmable. This means you can complete the individual encounters repeatedly to obtain various items and complete your collection. Including any exotics available in these contents.
- The weekly legacy raid is “Last Wish” with the weapon exotic
“1000 Voices”
- Furthermore, there are extra high-tier loot and the sword “Heartshadow” in the dungeon “Duality”.
- The weekly exotic mission is “Sign” with the exotic “Tale of a Dead One”.
Weekly Activities
In Season 22, Guardians will face new challenges that they must complete.
- Altars of Summoning: Bring offerings in the otherworldly prison of the Witch Queen to summon loathsome enemies, defeat them, and gain their power.
- Savathûn’s Pillar: Activate the pillar, defeat its overseers, and gain access to the Altars of Summoning.
Lightfall – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “First Contact”
- In the first mission, you establish first contact and learn about Strand for the very first time while strolling through Neomuna with your Guardian. Strand is the new subclass from Lightfall and then there’s something else you need to do …
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj has this week’s 2nd Ascendant Challenge for you. You will find Petra and her quest offer at the location “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. Savathûn also has her fingers in this, as the curse begins to reclaim the sacred city of the Awoken at level 1.
All sources for top loot in Season 22 of Destiny 2
More Power level comes automatically: The power level will also be capped in Season 22, meaning that the hard power level cap in Destiny 2 remains unchanged at 1,810. This ensures no player is forced to perform excellently every week, but instead levels up automatically at all activities to the artifact level.
- There are still tough challenges, even without an increase in power level. For example, in Grandmaster Raids, Pinnacle Nightfalls, Grandmaster Lost Sectors, or Trials of Osiris. Here, a high artifact level is advantageous and necessary.
If you are currently not yet at the hard cap of 1,810, we have listed the best sources for top loot for you.
