In Destiny 2, collectors can obtain newly polished weapons in the returned Dawning event 2023. We show you how to do this and, above all, which God Rolls exist.
What weapons are available? Overall, guardians can choose between 6 weapons they can specifically hunt. These include:
- Stay Frosty – Pulse Rifle
- Cold Front – Submachine Gun
- Glacioclasm – Fusion Rifle
- Avalanche – Machine Gun
- Zephyr – Sword
- Albedo’s Wings – Glaive
These are five known weapons, while in 2023 the Glaive Albedo’s Wings joins the collection of winter guns. In the next part, we will show you how to effectively obtain the weapons and what their God Rolls are.
What is a “God Roll” in Destiny 2?
Each weapon in Destiny has “Perks” that grant it specific properties. One perk might make the weapon a bit more stable, another increases the magazine size. The better the perks enhance a weapon, the better the weapon becomes. Even the strongest weapons on paper with the best base stats will fall apart if they have weak perks.
A “God Roll” in Destiny 2 describes the best perk combination possible on a weapon. Such a weapon performs significantly better than “normal” weapons and is therefore quite popular.

Dawning Weapons 2023 – All About God Rolls and Locations
How do I get Dawning weapons? You obtain one example of each Dawning weapon through the event challenges. Additionally, you can focus on Dawning weapons through rewards offered by Eva.
Purchase the “Limited Exchange Ticket” upgrade. Then, you need 25 Dawning spirit and a reward, which you can get when delivering cookies, for focusing your choice.
Tip: To make farming Dawning spirit easier, you can equip the ship “Starfarer 7M” or buy it from Eva Levante in the Tower. This gives you the chance to generate Dawning spirit when you find Dawning ingredients.
Now, let’s talk about the weapons. We will show you two rolls for PvP and PvE, so you are prepared for both situations. Note that you cannot build these weapons in the weapon forge. It still requires the good old grind to obtain these God Rolls.
1. Stay Frosty – Pulse Rifle
This is the new pulse rifle from Omolon. This weapon has the element “Stasis” and can impress in both PvE and PvP with the right perks.
God Roll for PvE:

- High Caliber Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Thresh, Vorpal Weapon
- Adaptive Munitions, Golden Tricorn, Grave Robber
- Masterwork: Range
God Roll for PvP:

- Masterwork: Range or Reload Speed
2. Cold Front – Submachine Gun
A submachine gun with strong recoil and a wintery look. This SMG is kinetic and can be quite impressive in both PvP and PvE.

- Hit ‘Em Up
- Berserk
- Masterwork: Stability
God Roll for PvP:
- Corkscrew Rifling

3. Glacioclasm – Fusion Rifle
One of the feared horrors in PvP: The Glacioclasm. This Void Fusion Rifle is not only powerful, but it can also cover very long distances, making it a serious threat.
God Roll for PvE:

- Enhanced Battery
- Outlaw
- Stored Salvo, Golden Tricorn
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
God Roll for PvP:
- Arrowhead Brake
- Accelerated Coils
- Under Pressure
- Kickstart, Piercing Reserves

4. Avalanche – Machine Gun
A stable machine gun with a compact size from the Suros manufacturer. This Solar MG tears down hordes of enemies in seconds and lives up to its name.
God Roll for PvE:
- Arrowhead Brake
- Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Outlaw, Auto-Loading Holster
- Overheat, Vorpal Weapon
- Masterwork: Range
God Roll for PvP: Machine guns are semi-optimal for taking out guardians in PvP. We recommend using a rocket launcher instead.
5. Zephyr – Sword
God Roll for PvE:
- Hungry Edge
- Balanced Sword Perk
- Unrelenting Hits or Cold Steel
- Chain Reaction
God Roll for PvP: If you are using a sword for PvP, then you are better off with the exotic sword “Black Talon”.
6. Albedo’s Wings – Glaive
Glaives are perfect for both close and long-range combat. You can decide yourself how to use them. This winter event glaive falls a bit behind its counterparts – but it can still impress with the right perks and its appearance.
God Roll for PvE:
- Low-Resistance Windings
- Additional Magazine
- Grave Robber
- For endgame PvE, we recommend Rechargeable Aegis, as it allows you to block and partially reload from reserves simultaneously.
- Golden Tricorn or Demolisher
- Masterwork: Range
God Roll for PvP:
In PvP, glaives remain a niche but still powerful option. However, if you don’t like their slow reload speed, replace Enhanced Rounds
with Light Mag
.
