Unlocking Destiny 2. Graviton Spike – Here’s how you can get the exotic hand cannon

With The Witch Queen, the “Graviton Spike” has made its entrance into Destiny 2. We will show you how to unlock the exotic cannon.

You need to do this before the exotic quest:

• Make sure you have purchased the new expansion “The Witch Queen”.
• Complete the campaign of The Witch Queen – depending on your pace, about 7-10 hours.
• After the campaign, you can pick up the Exotic Quest “Graviton Through The Ages” at the Altar of Relativity.

How the Exotic Quest for the Graviton Spike unfolds

To obtain the Graviton Spike, you will need to complete various steps within the exotic quest. This includes collecting different weapon parts and obtaining Vex data fragments.

Your first task is:

• Talk to Lodi and then with “The Emeritus”.
• Next, you should obtain the first weapon part of the Graviton Spike.

Obtain the first weapon part of the Graviton Spike

• Determine the location of the first weapon part using the Rosetta Device. A target will now be shown on your map.
• On the way to the Rosetta Device, you need to use the new abilities (Matter Sparks and Matter Manipulator).
• Just before the location, you must defeat a “Rosetta Sentry” in order to interact with the Rosetta Terminal afterwards.
• Now you will find a new target location on your map where you need to go to collect the first weapon part.
  • At the new target location, you need to enter a building. Go on the roof of the house to reach the other side. There you can use the Matter Spark to get inside the building – you need to find 3 “Phylons” and charge them with the Matter Spark attack. Afterwards, you will receive your first weapon part in the building.
• Return to the Emeritus with the first weapon part to get the next quest step.

Obtain the second weapon part of the Graviton Spike

• Determine the location of the second weapon part. You will see a location again on the map where you need to go.
  • On the way to the terminal, use the Matter Manipulator to reach the next area, where you will then fight another Rosetta Sentry. Afterwards, you can interact with the terminal, which will reveal the location of the second weapon part.
• At the location of the weapon part, you will need to use the Matter Spark and the Matter Manipulator.
  • With the Matter Spark, you must enter a room next door through a gap in one of the walls.
  • In the new room, use the Matter Manipulator on an object blocking access to the adjacent room, cross the access with the Matter Spark, and enter the room behind.
  • Then continue rolling as Matter Spark to a channel in the wall and follow it until you can turn right at a fork. Then you need to remove another object with the Matter Manipulator that blocks the way before you reach a new room where you will find the weapon part.
• Use fast travel to return to the City of Aionir. Talk to Lodi there.

Obtain the third weapon part of the Graviton Spike and Vex data fragments

• Determine the location of the third weapon part.
  • You will find a marker on the map again to determine the location of the third weapon part. Follow the marker. Note that you do NOT have to go through the train, but through a small portal that you cross as Matter Spark.
  • If you encounter a Rosetta Sentry, you know you are on the right path.
  • Defeat the Rosetta Sentry and activate the terminal nearby to obtain the location of the third weapon part.
  • Return the way you came until you reach the train. Then go through the train. Follow the marking until you find the third weapon part.
• Go back and talk to the Emeritus.
• Collect Vex data fragments by defeating Vex and picking up the dropped resource from the ground.

Obtain the fourth weapon part of the Graviton Spike

• Once you have collected enough Vex data fragments, you need to collect the fourth weapon part, the location of which you will again determine at a terminal marked on the map.
• At the new terminal, you must destroy jammers and defeat Vex to deactivate shields in order to access the terminal.
• The location of the next weapon part will be shown to you in a tunnel, but before you enter the tunnel, you need to collect a Relocator Thrower.
  • The Relocator Thrower is located in the terminal area in a container hanging from a crane.
  • To open the container, you will need to use the Matter Manipulator to remove the side wall of the container. You will activate your Matter Manipulator in one of the corners of the terminal area.
• Collect the third weapon part in the tunnel.
• Talk to Lodi again.

Assemble the Graviton Spike

• Assemble the Graviton Spike. For this, you need to play and complete the activity “The Sieve” on Kepler. Note that the activity is only available at certain times.
• During the activity, you need to protect a drill from various enemies. Some of these enemies must be attacked with the Matter Spark super to deactivate the shield and deal damage to them.

You will receive the Graviton Spike after successfully completing the activity from a chest that drops as a reward for your heroic deed.
