What’s happening today in Destiny 2? Before the release of Shadowkeep on October 1, 2019, Bungie wants to use the time to gradually reveal juicy information about the autumn expansion. After Game Director Luke Smith has already written a massive text about the current state of Destiny 2 yesterday, today, August 14, there will be a livestream about Armor 2.0.

Update 19:02: With a slight delay, Bungie has started a countdown. It will begin in 10 minutes.
What will be shown? According to Bungie, many Guardians have wanted the developers to explain exactly what this Armor 2.0 actually is, which becomes such an important feature of Shadowkeep. And today there should finally be answers.
The livestream is under the motto: “Armor Customization Preview – or – Building a Better Monster Kill Machine.”
Three developers will build their ideal Titan, Warlock, or Hunter with Armor 2.0 in the stream. They will use various mods, artifacts, and ornaments in the armors and try the builds in the new sandbox.
You will not only see Armor 2.0 but also get a glimpse of the new sandbox.
What is Armor 2.0 actually?
This is known about Armor 2.0:
- Armor 2.0 is the new armor system that Shadowkeep introduces in Destiny 2 on October 1.
- With this system, your armor pieces can be customized more individually and as desired.
- Each armor piece can be equipped with many mods – including several new mods. You have several mod slots available per armor piece.
- So you can finally wear the armor pieces that you like visually best – and not the ones that have the best bonuses. Because the armor pieces then serve as shells that you fill with mods that provide the bonuses. You no longer have to compromise between good looks and functionality.
- The numbers seen on the bottom right of the upper image show how the mods affect the stats. So you probably get more information than before about how strong the bonuses are.
- In this context, the attributes Strength, Discipline, and Intelligence from Destiny 1 will return, adding more depth to the whole system.
- Armors will have a so-called energy system. This means that players will be able to charge or level up armor pieces, thereby increasing the mod capacity of the individual parts. Players should feel that they become more powerful as they develop their armor.
- Along with the broader customization options, artifacts also play an important role. These are items that allow you to unlock various perks of different tiers and thus adapt your character to your preferred play style. They are, by the way, season-bound.
- Thus, Armor 2.0 will likely be the most important innovation of Shadowkeep that will change the way you play Destiny 2.
