In Destiny 2 there is a Lightfall event that is only available at certain times. It guarantees players old as well as new Exotics to drop, but it is rare and hard to discover. However, one player has now created a genius solution that simplifies this for you.
Which event is it about? With the DLC “Lightfall,” Bungie has created another way to farm Exotics at the destination Neomuna. It is the exclusive Public Event “Vex Strike Force Incoming”.
The event is particularly interesting for Guardians because of its rewards, as it guarantees an Exotic armor piece to drop when successfully completed. And this is unique in Destiny 2, as no activity guaranteed an Exotic drop before Lightfall.
The best part about the new event is that it can also drop the new Exotics that you have not yet acquired since yesterday’s midseason update. Something that was previously only possible in Lost Sectors, where the drop is not guaranteed.
With the new Vex event, it is different because it is accessible to every player – you do not have to do it alone. The biggest problem so far has just been finding it reliably, as it is super rare.
However, one player has found a genius solution that makes it much easier for you to not miss the event on Neomuna. MeinMMO has tested the player solution and is presenting it to you.
Discord bot tracks the rare Exo event for you
How to not miss the Exo event anymore: On Reddit, the player Buuz135 presented his simple yet genius solution for the event’s findability problem to the Destiny 2 community.
As the player reports on Reddit, he has created a Discord bot named “Asher Mir.” This bot uses simple image recognition and regularly checks for you to see if there is a new event on the Neomuna map and whether it is a normal or the rare Vex event.
His idea has been enthusiastically received, rewarded with many upvotes, and is now eagerly used by Guardians to farm the old and new Exotics.
- If the bot detects the Vex event, it posts a short notification on a Discord server of your choice.
- This way, Guardians no longer have to constantly search for the event and do not miss it anymore.
From what we have been able to test, the bot works flawlessly. You can also “capture” it on your own Discord server and use it there as well.
How to get event info: To not miss any event anymore, players must join Buuz135’s Discord server. There, the Asher Mir bot regularly posts the events in an announcement channel.
Anyone who wants can also bring the bot to their own server and have it post the info in a channel of their choice.
- To do so, join Buuz135’s Discord server and select the channel “Vex Network #assistant.
- There you now have the option to follow this channel and choose an output channel on your own Discord server.
- Once you have done that, the bot will automatically also post the appearance of the event on your server when it is online.
This is how tough it gets at the event: The event lasts exactly 10 minutes. During this time you have to take care of and defeat 6 large Minotaurs. The difficulty level is challenging and intense. The power level classification of the enemies is 1,810, and you also have to consider the open-world penalty of Neomuna.
The mechanic consists of repeatedly breaking the shields of the Minotaurs and then dealing damage. Therefore, anyone who wants to loot needs almost certain help from other Guardians or their fireteam to succeed. However, with the new bot, this could soon be easier if more Guardians can find the event quickly.
However, there are also three small catches in this matter that should not go unmentioned.
- You have to be quick, because once the bot discovers the event and posts it, you usually only have a few minutes to get to Neomuna for it.
- The event does drop an Exotic upon successful completion, but you do not have the opportunity to determine which type of armor piece you will receive, unlike in Lost Sectors.
- The bot is currently still running on Guardian Buuz135’s laptop and therefore only works if he is online. However, the community has already offered help to make the bot permanently available.
For everyone who has always missed the Vex Strike Force event or didn’t know how to find it, the Asher Mir Discord bot is definitely worth a try. With its help, you can focus better on what matters: the fight against the 6 large Vex Minotaurs, so that the Exotic drops safely.
Is the use of the “Asher Mir” bot allowed? Bungie, the developers of Destiny 2, have not yet commented on the bot. But as long as it does not violate the terms of use, it will likely remain a useful tool for the Guardians, just like other third-party solutions.
With this new Discord bot, players in Destiny 2 have created another solution to overcome the obstacles set by Bungie and help other Guardians.
What do you think of the solution for finding the special Exo event? Will you use the bot right away? Or has it not been a challenge for you to discover the lucrative event immediately? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
For the streamer Ekuegan, there seems to be no good ending in Destiny 2, as Bungie has now once again reacted to his ban:
