It has been known for some time that Homelander will meet Superman at an event. Now the fight between the two has taken place, but it is reportedly a disappointment.
What kind of fight was it? In October 2025, Capcom announced that there would be a DC K.O.
-event featuring a clash between Homelander and Superman. This was supposed to be one of several crossover fights.
Now, with the comic DC K.O.: Boss Battle No. 1, the fight has taken place. Although the duel sounds fundamentally exciting, the execution was rather mediocre.

No Real Ending
How did the fight go? As Screen Rant reports, Superman suddenly ends up in the universe of The Boys. He tries to explain himself, but Homelander interrupts him with his arrogance: Let me guess, you’re here to kill me? Another one in a long line of people trying to steal my place as America’s favorite superhero

He starts attacking him with his laser eyes, but Superman fights back. The fight ignites and both begin to trade blows. However, it becomes apparent that Superman is the only one who can draw blood from the other. After a strong headbutt from Superman, the fight ends without a clear winner, and Superman is teleported back. The fight was meant to generate some sort of Omega energy for the event.
What does the community think of the fight? The showdown between Homelander and Superman is not well received by the fans. Select-Machine3598 (Source: Reddit) describes it as a massive disappointment
. There is no satisfying ending, except that Superman manages to injure Homelander.
One_Food9894 (Source: Reddit) is just glad that Homelander couldn’t do anything to Superman. Generally, the problem for many readers is that the fight is too safe
. No one really loses, but it gets attention.
Actually, the Winner is Obvious
Who would win the fight? While it can be debated, Superman should win a fight against Homelander. Although both have similar abilities (according to the comic, even similarly strong laser vision), Superman is significantly stronger. He does manage to make Homelander bleed.
Looking at the series on Amazon, Homelander can’t even safely catch and lift an airplane; depending on the story, Superman can lift or move entire planets.
What other crossovers are there in DC K.O.: Boss Battle No. 1? Superman is not the only one who has to face an opponent from other franchises, especially the Joker has an interesting opponent:
- Joker vs. Annabelle (the horror doll from the Conjuring franchise)
- Star Sapphire vs. Sabrina (the witch, for example from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina)
- Wonder Woman vs. Red Sonja (comic character created in 1977)

- Black Lightning and Plastic Man vs. Sub-Zero and Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)
- Lex Luthor vs. Samantha Strong (murderous comic bear from the comic Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees)
However, all these fights were just an effort to generate the Omega energy for the ongoing event. There, the DC characters must face other DC characters. Superman is of course not invincible.
