Contents
- Five new mounts have been added that you can unlock and summon by fulfilling certain conditions.
- Mounts:
- Legendary Animals: Polar Bear, Silver Tooth, White Stag
- Boss Animals: Stonebreaker Wild Boar, Ice Spike Mountain Goat
- The residents of Pywel do not fear tamed animals, allowing you to roam the towns carefree with your mounts.
- If you have caught one of the Legendary Animals before this patch, you will retroactively receive the corresponding reward in the additional rewards menu once you start the game.
- Mounts:
- Chests containing various materials have been added throughout the continent of Pywel.
- Coins for refinement have been added, allowing you to refine your equipment up to level 4 without consuming additional materials. These coins can be obtained as rewards for certain main and faction quests.
- An “Instant Craft” function has been added to the Cooking/Crafting menu. Once you select a recipe, you can now craft the dish directly without needing to select the ingredients individually.
- A “Store All” function has been added for the private storage. (Keyboard: Shift + Right Click / PS5: □ / Xbox: X)
- The private storage, which was previously located behind the NPC “Carl” in the Graymane camp, has been moved inside the tent.
- Yard shop NPCs have been added to the regional farms of Pywel, thus adjusting the knowledge count.
- A change has been made so that all knowledge of purchasable items in shops can now be acquired at once. The acquisition time is 3 seconds.
- Before locked doors, an interaction button is now displayed allowing you to decide whether you want to use a key to open them.
- A change has been made to ensure that pets do not stray too far from the player during combat.
- A problem has been fixed where pets could not pick up items during combat.
- Up to 5 units can now be drawn from a well during each water extraction.
- Minerals from ore veins mined with the mining knuckle drill can now be collected immediately.
- The wood from trees felled with the Demeniss chainsaw can now be collected immediately.
- The manufacturing materials for the Kuku Guardian backpack have been changed.
- Abyss spheres dropped by destroying vanishing rocks can now be placed in the Kuku iron pot.
- With the Knowledge Helmet, all displayed knowledge on the screen can now be acquired at once.
- The treasure hunt range of the Pirate King’s hat has been slightly increased.
- Inventory expansion items earned after reaching the inventory expansion limit (240 slots) are now issued in the form of chests. These may contain items such as manufacturing materials.
- The player experience when solving Abyss puzzles has been overall improved.
- The likelihood of pickpockets running into houses when fleeing has been reduced.
- The maximum camera distance in photo mode has been increased. Additionally, a function to adjust the field of view (FOV) and a camera shutter sound have been added.
- As part of ongoing graphical optimizations, some 2D graphic assets have been replaced to better match the artistic vision of the game.
- A problem has been fixed where it was not possible to rest or wait in beds or at campfires.
- A problem has been fixed where Damiane and Oongka became invisible under certain circumstances.
- A problem has been fixed where deposited money at the bank could disappear upon interest update under certain conditions.
- When a sealable item is lost, it will now be sealed if it is in a sealable state; if sealing is not possible, it will be registered as a lost item.
- If a sealable item is taken and the save is reloaded after saving, a message will now appear regarding sealing or loss of an item.
- The reputation only decreases when an NPC notices a crime.
- The functionality of an item has been changed.
Control and Combat
- The movement control for the player character and the horse has been improved.
- Movement speed can now be increased by holding down the sprint key.
- Movement speed can now be increased by tapping the sprint key once.
- Movement speed for the character and the horse no longer decreases if the sprint key is not held down continuously.
- (Please note that the sprint key still needs to be pressed at regular intervals for full sprinting.)
- User-friendliness for flying has been improved.
- Stamina consumption while flying has been reduced.
- A problem has been fixed where the character briefly stopped before flying was activated.
- Improvements have been made so equipped items can now also be used during flight.
- A problem has been fixed where flying could not be activated in certain situations.
- The ability “Jump Charge” has been revised. Due to an unintended issue that allowed the ability to be used repeatedly in the air, it has been improved to make it more entertaining as a movement mechanic without affecting balance.
- The animation of the Jump Charge has been improved.
- The stamina consumption of the “Jump Charge” ability now increases with each consecutive use.
- A problem has been fixed where the ability did not trigger when a different main weapon was equipped instead of the sword.
- The stamina consumption of “Air Maneuvers” and “Air Swings” has been reduced.
- The interaction range has been improved for more comfortable interaction with NPCs.
- The responsiveness when turning the player during short-distance movements has been improved.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] A problem has been fixed where the abilities “Reflect Light” and “Whirlwind Strike” were interrupted under certain conditions while the input was held down.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] Items can now be sold in the store with a double click.
- Visual effects indicating weak points depending on the element have been added.
- Some bosses and opponents will no longer attack immediately after the player’s death and resurrection.
- A problem has been fixed where the ability “Meteor Kick” could be triggered in the air even if no reachable ground was present.
- A targeting key guide for tools has been added.
- Weapons can now also be drawn with the button for stowing the weapon. Additionally, a guide for this key is displayed in combat.
- A problem has been fixed where the stun bar was occasionally reset immediately when a boss using a mount fell off the mount.
- Small and medium stoneback crabs now fall over backward when struck by Power Punch.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] The user experience in the inventory has been improved as follows.
- Items in the inventory are now selected and used with a mouse click instead of mouseover.
- Items can be selected in the inventory with a left click.
- Items can be used with a right click or double click.
- The stamina consumption while sprinting and using crow wings has been reduced.
- A problem has been fixed where the knockback range of Focus Defense was unusually large.
- The interaction with the desert marauder Rusten has been adjusted so that the wheels cannot be destroyed from a certain distance.
- A problem has been fixed where neither rolling nor dodging could be triggered while using the Focus ability.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] The power of the axiom “Precise Control” has been added. By holding Q or the back button of the mouse and moving the mouse, objects can be moved more precisely.
- Interaction with objects is now easier.
- If you try to draw a weapon in a location or condition where it cannot be drawn, a message will now be displayed.
Quests
- The abrupt transition to staging during the liberation of a base has been softened.
- A problem has been fixed where in the prologue, the quest “New Journey” could not be continued if Sebastian was attacked with a thrown item.
- A problem has been fixed where in chapter 2 during the quest “Missing Companion,” the delivery target occasionally disappeared.
- A problem has been fixed where in chapter 3 during the quest “Dance with the Devil,” the destruction of totems was occasionally not counted.
- Furthermore, missing help texts during the quests have been added.
UI Adjustments and Improvements
- A function has been added to the minimap allowing the north direction (N) to be fixed at the top.
- In the ability menu, information has been added about the increase in values at the next level of an ability.
- Icons indicating the position of keys and anvils have been added to the minimap.
- In the notification menu, you can now view the progress status of challenges and quests (Accepted, Completed, Updated), reward information, as well as timestamps. Additionally, the maximum number of saved messages has been increased to 2,000.
- An icon has been added to the diary menu indicating new quests.
- When the liberation bar of a base is displayed, the facilities of the base will now also be shown on the minimap.
- The overall functionality of notifications on the main screen has been improved, including display duration and when they disappear.
- In the cooking/crafting menu, identical recipes (Filling, Fully Loaded, Abundant Dishes) are now displayed as one group.
- While playing the main game from the Two Leaves, a key guide for “Hand Lens” is now displayed.
- The dazzling effect on the loading screen for the “Retry” after death has been removed.
- The UI of the knowledge menu has been improved to display not only the main categories but also the subcategories at once.
- The guide images for the key labels L3/R3 of the DualSense controller and LS/RS of the Xbox controller have been changed.
- When using pouch items in the inventory, “Use All” is now applied by default.
- The text color in the UI descriptions is now displayed brighter.
Graphics and Settings
- The stability and quality of rendering in low-resolution environments or when upscaling is activated has been improved.
- With FSR-RR / DLSS-RR activated, the rendering of semi-transparent materials such as hair, fur, and clothing has been improved.
- [PlayStation 5] For an even better gaming experience with higher image quality, we have added the option “Fixed 4K Resolution.”
- When this option is enabled, the screen outputs in 4K resolution regardless of whether the monitor supports 4K resolution, allowing you to experience even higher image quality.
- If this option is activated on PlayStation 5 (base model) in “Performance” mode, it will upscale using FSR.
- This option is enabled by default and can be disabled if needed.
- When disabled, the screen outputs according to the maximum resolution of the monitor.
- A problem has been fixed where image noise increased after prolonged gameplay.
- With DLSS-RR activated, displacement mapping is applied correctly. Additionally, the DLSS-RR preset has been changed from D to E, improving overall quality and fixing an issue where texture animations such as those for waterfalls would stop.
Performance, Stability, and Game Start
- Loading times when moving across the Abyss Nexus and respawning after death have been shortened.
- General stability and performance optimizations have been made on PC, Mac, and consoles, fixing some crash issues.
- A problem has been fixed where there were frame drops while fighting the crow summoner.
Localization
- A problem has been fixed where the quest objective UI displayed the descriptions of certain items instead of the quest content.
- Localization errors in all languages have been fixed and the overall quality of localization has been improved.
Miscellaneous
- New sounds have been added that play when some animals eat meat.

- A problem has been fixed where the corresponding interaction function was not available when enhancing some tools.
- A problem has been fixed where in the Twisted Thicket Path, the Skyway Gate opened without an Abyss being restored nearby.
- A problem has been improved where cattle did not correctly follow during herding.
- A problem has been fixed where with low bounty, you could be attacked by guards just by greeting.
- A problem has been fixed where the ability “Veil of Winds” affected surrounding NPCs.
- A problem has been fixed where pressing the “Reel In” button in the open world would end the housing mode.
- A problem has been fixed where falling into shallow water would occasionally result in diving at a strange position.
- A problem has been fixed where the effect of the Abyss gear “Energy Drain” was not triggered.
- A problem has been fixed where an unintended function was applied to the constellation helmet.
- A problem has been fixed where the movement when starting gliding briefly stopped.
- A problem has been fixed where when switching equipment via quick access in drawn state, the item was put away.
- A problem has been fixed where in certain situations, aiming with the bow was not possible.
- A problem has been fixed where using “Storm Strike” would throw you far away at the edge of a cliff.
- A problem has been fixed where some UI elements overlapped in certain situations when displayed simultaneously.
- A problem has been fixed where a downward strike with wood was not counted as a crime.
- Furthermore, various other bugs in the game have been fixed.
Crimson Desert is a game that does not hold your hand. Much is explained little or not at all. While this encourages experimentation and puzzling, it can also lead to quick frustration.
