Since World of Warcraft finally introduced the housing system, players have become increasingly creative. One player has found inspiration from Counter-Strike 2.
What inspired the player from Counter-Strike 2? The player @woweden posted on X.com screenshots of her house in World of Warcraft. Specifically, the interior can be seen, which she modeled after a map from Counter-Strike 2: Dust 2.
Of course, this is not the complete map, but at least an excerpt of it. Among other things, barrels, markers, a steep section of the included road, and a goose graffiti can be seen.
@woweden writes in her posts that recreating Dust 2 in WoW was probably her most challenging design yet. During the construction, there were also concrete problems like stubborn carpets and stones. And she doesn’t know if she will completely ruin the build when she enters the house next time.

What is special about Dust 2? According to leetify, Dust 2 is currently the second most played map in Counter-Strike 2, right after Mirage. It last held the top spot in April 2024. Dust 2 itself is one of the most well-known FPS maps worldwide. Moreover, it is considered by PCGamesN as one of, if not the best balanced map in the game.
In a Reddit post, players also discuss the popularity of Dust 2. NeatDurain points out that the map is very famous, making it easier to perform well with random groups. There may be some truth to the theory that you often end up in mixed teams: NotInNewYorkBlues writes that one should play with two friends to avoid Dust 2 as much as possible.

What does the community think? In the comments, players celebrate the housing build, and some identify themselves as Counter-Strike 2 fans. @arismith1213 asks if it would be possible to visit the house. Builder @woweden confirms, but it should be considered that it’s unclear whether the build can be entered without issues. @qyayayaq, on the other hand, hopes that the currently most popular map will be recreated next: Mirage.
Also speaking is @PHRISK3D, a developer. She writes that she has worked on Counter-Strike 2, but also World of Warcraft, and finds the housing build great. Other players are happy that they can now execute the command Rush-B
in WoW, and one notes that the WoW version could easily be from Spongebob.
Incidentally, the release of the housing system has not only resulted in beautiful home creations but also frustration. The system was inaccessible and difficult to understand for many people.
