Conan Exiles Level Guide to Max Level 60

You will reach level 60 the fastest if you consider a few things while leveling:

Be flexible. If you want to quickly reach the maximum level in Conan Exiles, you have to be able to adapt. The circumstances often require you to take a more effective route for the moment, such as when you run out of iron and can’t find any nearby.

Never follow just one path. There are several ways to level up quickly. However, never follow just one path, but combine it with other options. Only then will you get the maximum amount of experience points from your time.

Consider what you will do next. If you run aimlessly into the desert, you will waste a lot of time. Think about which method you want to level up the next five or ten levels and plan your route accordingly. Familiarize yourself with the area and compare it with your options.

The individual steps of the Journey grant you a large chunk of experience points. The first steps are quickly achieved and relatively easy. Later objectives can be very dangerous.

The Journey serves as an anchor point for all your activities. If you always follow one of the steps, you can easily complete all other tips from this guide simultaneously. This maximizes the experience you gain and allows you to reach level 60 in just a few hours.

Immediately fulfill all easy steps for quick leveling. Most of them can be completed alone, but some require friends or a clan. The easy steps are:

• Chapters 1-4 of the Journey
• Improve a building piece (Chapter 5)
• Ride an elevator (Chapter 5)
• Decorate yourself with war paint (Chapter 5)
• Modify a weapon (Chapter 6)
• Modify armor (Chapter 6)

Experience through Fighting

The combat in Conan Exiles is one of the pillars of the game. You will hardly survive in the world without fighting. At the beginning, the fights are quite easy, but they become harder even in the first areas around the desert.

Leveling through fighting only becomes effective at higher levels. You will hardly receive experience for killing hyenas or exiles at the lower levels. Around level 30-40, this increases.

Killing stronger opponents grants more experience points. Once you venture into the jungle or penetrate the icy north, you will notice that the enemies reward you with significantly more experience points.

Some points where you can level up well through combat:

• Gorillas in the Lost City of Xel-Ha (between levels 20 and 35)
• Nordheimers in New Asgarth (between levels 30 and 40)
• Nordheimers at the God Towers (between levels 35-45)
• The Hills of the Dead (between levels 45 and 55)
• Undead and Frost Giants in the North (from level 50, dangerous!)
• The Volcano (from level 55, dangerous!)
• All dungeons (from level 40, only in groups!)
• World bosses (from level 40, only in groups, very dangerous!)

If you only want to level through fighting, you should quickly get good weapons and armor. It is best to have a friend craft you higher-level equipment. You can use any equipment at any time, just not repair it – for that, you need help again.

Most of the time, you are already on the move to gather resources or find a new building site. Use these opportunities to look around to the right and left of the path as well.

Exploration is only effective in conjunction with other activities. Exploration alone takes too much time to level up effectively. However, it runs steadily alongside and provides you with experience points passively. It is particularly worth it to fully explore an area while completing steps of the “Journey”.

However, you gain so much experience from exploring the world that you can reach level 60 just by that. It may take a long time, but combined with the steps of the journey that require exploration, the experience is sufficient. Just exploration alone is not an effective way, but a possibility.

It is very easy to discover places.	Some places are hard to reach and waste time during exploration.

Crafting and Building

Crafting and building are ways to level up that complement any other activity but can also work independently. It should be noted: The higher the quality of the material you process, the more experience points you gain.

You already receive a lot of experience points simply for gathering resources. In Conan Exiles, you receive experience for mining ores, wood, or other resources. This makes crafting an ideal complement to any other activity.

• Crafting and the Journey: Many steps of the journey require you to craft or equip items. If you complete the production entirely on your own, you receive experience points from gathering, crafting, and the step of the journey.
• Crafting and Fighting: Every creature you kill can be harvested. You can turn hides into leather and armor, meat into food, and special, religious loot from humans for religion. It is always worthwhile to harvest the victims after a fight.
• Crafting and Exploration: During exploration, especially in tougher areas, you will encounter special materials. Mark these points and take as much as you can carry – you can process the material for many experience points and receive experience just for mining.
• Crafting and Building: You receive experience for every building part you place. So if you diligently craft foundations and walls for increasingly larger houses, you will receive constant experience points. The highest building levels reinforced with black ice are particularly worthwhile.

You receive experience as soon as you craft items in workshops that run automatically. A particularly special tip is: Keep your furnaces producing iron or steel at all times, preferably in many production sites simultaneously. Additionally, if you have at least one level-2 blacksmith at your blacksmith’s workbench, you can turn steel bars into steel reinforcements without loss and then turn them back into steel bars. This way, you can passively collect experience points at any time.

The production of many items continues automatically.	Certain resources are limited.
Raw materials can be found everywhere, you can gather while engaging in any other activity.	Some of the higher recipes require many raw materials, which sometimes also need to be crafted.
Crafting is useful to maintain your equipment, create new weapons, or expand your base.	Actively crafting takes time, but it is necessary in some places.
You will need some items like explosive jars later in the game anyway – this way, you can prepare for the endgame on your journey.
