The new battle royale mode Warzone in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes some of the features from the base game – two of the most important ones. We explain how Killstreaks and Loadouts work in Warzone and how to use them.
What are these features? Killstreaks and Loadouts actually come from the various multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare.
Killstreaks allow the one-time use of special and usually very powerful abilities. They provide access to a radar with enemy display or airstrikes.
Loadouts are pre-made combinations of weapons, equipment, and perks that are usually coordinated to carry strong synergies. The weapons are usually directly equipped with attachments.
Both can also be found in the new battle royale “Warzone”, although they are significantly harder to obtain than in multiplayer.
Buying and Finding Killstreaks
This is how you get Killstreaks in battle royale: To get Killstreaks in battle royale mode, you need to buy or find them. Each loot box offers a small chance of containing Killstreaks. If you want to be sure, you can also buy them. The following can be found at supply stations:
- Bundle with 5 armor plates – $1,500
- Shield turret – $2000
- Cluster strike – $3000
- Gas mask – $3000
- Precision airstrike – $3500
- Drone (UAV) – $4000
- Self-revive kit – $4500
- Redeployment – $4500
- Ammunition box – $5000
- Loadout drop marker – $10000
The battle royale is designed for three-player teams and allows you to pool money together easily. Drop it on the ground and let a player pick it up. This is beneficial for redeployment if a fallen comrade does not make it out of the Gulag.
This is how you get money: You can generally get money in battle royale in three ways:
- Boxes – These are scattered in the houses and announce their presence with a buzzing sound that can be heard through walls. Just follow the sound, and you will quickly find a chest.
- Completing contracts also rewards you with a substantial amount. However, this takes some time and can be quite dangerous.
- Money or “cash” is also sometimes simply lying on the ground like ammunition or dropped by enemies when you eliminate them. Just keep an eye out.
Killstreaks in the “Plunder” mode: In the plunder mode, you can also find Killstreaks rarely in boxes.
Money plays a different role here as you fight for the most cash for half an hour and can buy balloons at buy stations that take your savings out of the battle zone.
Creating and Obtaining Loadouts
Where can I find Loadouts in battle royale? You can find Loadouts in battle royale in drop boxes. The boxes are delivered by planes that regularly fly over the map with prior announcement. They can also be bought in shops for $8500.
Look for a plane symbol on the map or scan the sky for red parachutes slowly descending. Once a box has landed, its location is marked with green smoke and also visible on the map.
However, be cautious of your surroundings with the packages, as they are usually highly contested. Search thoroughly for enemies beforehand, but don’t take too much time to give opponents a chance to outmaneuver or surprise you.
Especially, when playing solo or duo, you need to be careful not to face overwhelming odds. However, you can take advantage of the fact that enemies are distracted and easily rack up some kills.
How do I create Loadouts? What you find in care packages depends on what you created yourself. You must create Loadouts earlier in the multiplayer mode. In our weapon guides, we have listed some strong Loadouts for you:
- M4A1 (strongest assault rifle) – Builds and Loadouts
- MP5 (strongest SMG) – Builds and Loadouts
- PKM (strongest LMG) – Builds and Loadouts
- The best class setup for beginners
This gives players who bought Modern Warfare a certain advantage, as they already have stronger weapons. Free-to-play players have to settle for standard Loadouts.
Aside from Loadouts, you will only find weapons scattered with pre-made blueprints. If you don’t like these, you have to go back to the drawing board. By the way, in the Plunder mode, you start directly with a Loadout.
