Activision has unveiled its latest shooter – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. This is set to release as usual towards the end of the year. What is known about the release, beta, pre-orders, as well as prices, platforms, and setting can be found here in our overview.
This is Call of Duty 2026: Activision’s shooter franchise is getting a continuation for Modern Warfare 3. However, with part 4 it goes into a different conflict.
South and North Korea are fighting and you are in the midst of the events. In addition to telling the story of a South Korean squad that must survive, you will also step into the shoes of the famous Captain Price. After the events of the predecessor, he has now become a rogue agent and also gets involved in the war between the two countries.

The DMZ mode is the same extraction experience from Modern Warfare 2 (2022), which was actually received very positively by many fans.
What is known about the content? Here you will find in one sentence what you can expect from the modes:
- Campaign
- Continues the story of MW3 but has changed the tone of the narration to be rougher and darker.
- Multiplayer mode
- The multiplayer mode takes you into PvP as usual, but various adjustments improve the overall experience and facilitate the entry.
- DMZ mode
- As in MW2 (2022), you will be thrown onto a large map, where you must loot items and equipment and then escape safely without being killed by NPCs or players.
What is known about the gameplay? There will be no more weapon bloom in MW4. This means: where your weapon shoots from the hip, your bullets will also land. There will be no random spread anymore. This simplifies PvP as you can better estimate where your rounds will land.
Additionally, there should be a feature that allows you to create strong loadouts for PvP even easier. In the Gunsmith, attachments that suit your playstyle – whether slow and from a distance or aggressive and in close combat – will be selected.
