When does Season 5 start? The new season starts on August 5 at 8:00 AM German time – simultaneously on all platforms.
Will there be a major update? Yes, traditionally a major update will be released at the start of the new season.
On PS4, it can already be downloaded early – a preload is active there. The patch is slightly larger than 36 GB on PlayStation 4.
If the current CoD complete package is too large for you, you can delete parts of the game that you do not need.
CoD Season 5 Battle Pass
What’s included in the next Battle Pass? Specific information about the content is not available. However, based on the four previous seasons, we can speculate what the pass generally includes:
Battle Pass Season 5 with 100 tiers
- The pass costs 1,000 CoD Points
- Each of the 100 “tiers” offers a reward
- 2 operator skins immediately upon purchase
- 2 new weapons to unlock
- Weapon blueprints
- 1,300 CoD Points in total, so you can make a “plus”
- Legendary rewards upon completing the pass
- Many operator skins with missions for even more skins
- Calling cards / emblems / sprays / talismans
You can view the individual rewards in our article about the new “Battle Pass Season 5”.
Do I need to purchase the pass to get everything? To collect all items, you must purchase the pass and fully unlock it. However, there is also a free reward path and some items will also appear in your inventory. In another article, we explain for whom the CoD: Modern Warfare Battle Pass is worthwhile.
Who will be the poster boy/girl of Season 5? In Season 5, a brand new faction enters the game – the private security company Shadow Company. Accompanying this are 2 brand new operators, one of whom, the burly Lerch, is the face of Season 5.

The new weapons from Season 5
In the promotional material for Season 5, attentive fans quickly discovered 2 new weapons that will most likely expand your arsenal in the new season:
- APC9, a new SMG
- AN-94, a new assault rifle
Read more about the weapons here: CoD MW & Warzone show 2 new weapons of Season 5 – and 2 more could come
Additionally, there are hints of 2 more weapons in the data from CoD that could appear on the battlefields soon:
- Remington 700: Classic sniper rifle from MW1 with high damage
- CheyTac M200 Intervention: Popular quick-scope sniper from MW2
Season 5 could therefore be a feast for snipers, at least based on the weapons found in the game files so far. However, it could also be that the new weapons arrive with the season start update. These 3 weapons currently have the highest chance of being part of the arsenal with Season 5.
Also interesting: An attachment has been found for the powerful FAL, which could switch the weapon to fully automatic mode.
Modern Warfare Season 5 with new multiplayer maps
Which maps are coming for MW? At the beginning of Season 5, there will be 4 new maps for the traditional multiplayer:
- 2 new 6v6 maps – Suldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig
- a new Ground War map – Verdansk Int. Airport
- a new Gunfight map – Livestock

CoD Warzone in Season 5 – What’s new
Stadium will be opened: The hints have been growing stronger in recent times, and now it’s official. The stadium in Warzone around Verdansk will be accessible in the new season and a battleground.
A armored train rolls through Verdansk: This leak has now been confirmed as well. After the Warzone world was recently enriched with a railroad track, with Season 5, a train is coming, which uses the newly laid tracks.
What exactly the armored train will entail is still unknown. At first glance, it appears that there will be loot available and you can traverse the Warzone more quickly with it.
Zip lines on rooftops: While this new feature is only briefly visible, it could have a significant impact. Some rooftops will have zip lines installed with Season 5, allowing alternative rooftop access.
This could be a move against roof campers. More on that here: CoD Warzone likely brings the solution against annoying roof campers in Season 5
Mini Royale: A new mode also launched right at the start of the season, concentrating the BR action and providing more excitement than the regular Battle Royale. Here you can find all the rules of the new mini mode.
Warzone Season 5 Map: Many leaks and rumors
What leaks or rumors exist for Warzone? The battle royale is expected to continue evolving for a long time, and thus there is the most leaked information here. We summarize what rumors suggest could happen in Season 5 within Warzone.
5-player teams
Attentive fans have found hints that with Season 5, larger squads might be possible in Warzone. More on this can be found here: CoD Warzone soon with large 5-player teams? Trailer for Season 5 provides hints
Nuclear Weapons
The rumor of partial or complete destruction of the Warzone maps persists. Some speculate only a flooding caused by the dam, which is hit by a nuclear rocket, while others think that Verdansk will completely disappear and be replaced by a completely different map. However, since the development team has invested a lot of work into the current Warzone map, a change seems more likely than a complete destruction.
The reintroduction of the red access cards suggests that the story behind the bunkers could pick up momentum again.
New Warzone Modes
Here there are 2 modes that players and leakers expect with Season 5. One could be a Pro-Hunt mode, where players transform into objects and the remaining soldiers need to find the hidden players. The other could be a Night mode, allowing us to experience Warzone in darkness.
Another, somewhat older leak showed a total of 14 new modes for Warzone. The “Juggernaut” or “Stimulus” mode has been correctly predicted by the leak, and here are some other possible modes for Season 5:
- Run Like Hell – The circle is always faster than a running player
- Non Stop – Gas circle closes continuously
- BYO Loadouts – BR starts with personal loadouts
- Pew Pew – BR only with pistols
Bunker stories
The bunkers remain mysterious even after their opening. There are more closed doors within the opened bunkers, and some cannot be accessed yet. A major hunt for the secrets of Bunker 11 would be conceivable again.
New in-match events and Gulag weapons
In an interview with the American gaming site “Gamespot”, Warzone developers revealed that the crazy in-match events will continue to be expanded. Currently, there are 3 of these events, which start on average every 5 matches. There will likely be more to come. We do not yet know how they will look. In the same interview, they also mentioned how they plan to continue with the changing Gulag weapons. The rhythm is set to shorten significantly, and you may soon get different selections in the respawn cave each week.
It will be interesting to see how Warzone evolves in the coming weeks and months. The connection of the BR with the new premium title, which is expected to be released this year, seems likely. Verdansk is closely tied to the “Cold War” and the new title appears to go in this direction. If there is new information, you will find it here on MeinMMO.
