The creators of the game were inspired by newer roguelite platformers like Dead Cells and Rogue Legacy, as well as classic run-and-gun games like Contra and Metal Slug.

What is the gameplay like in Fury Unleashed? You play through an interactive comic book. Your most important resource is ink, which you use to unlock upgrades for further runs.
With each new room you enter, two new pages in the book are opened, allowing you to discover a small new world each time.
You can choose between the easy and hard game modes, depending on how much challenge you want. If you master the hard setting, you unlock the two additional options “Incredible” and “Legendary”.
If you are not a fan of blood and gore, you also have the option to turn off the display of blood and violence.
You can customize the hero and select specific abilities depending on your play style, allowing you to take down even more enemies in combat. With unlockable weapons like submachine guns, rocket launchers, or stun guns, you can perform destructive combos.
The comic book world consists of a mix of pre-made and procedurally generated levels. You will encounter a total of 40 bosses and need to decipher their fighting patterns to be ultimately victorious.
Since the game is a roguelite, which is a toned-down version of roguelikes, certain permanent upgrades remain with you even through runs, even if your hero dies.
You can play the game solo as well as in local and online co-op.
