Activision has shown in a video about Call of Duty how tedious the creation of a skin is, but players responded with mockery and criticism.
What does Call of Duty show? On the official TikTok channel of Call of Duty, a video was shared that shows how the skin for actor and comedian Seth Rogen was created.
The video shows Seth Rogen sitting in a kind of cage made of cameras and lights. He is illuminated from all sides by numerous lamps, while a variety of cameras captures footage from different angles.
Targeted shots of his eye movements and grinning were also taken before a full-body scan completed the procedure.

Players mock the effort and the result
This is what players are saying: In the comments of the TikTok video, there are many critical voices, stating that they don’t even recognize who this is in-game; they don’t even know who this is and that Activision should put this much effort into other things.
One commentator mocks: “100 cameras and I still can’t tell in the game that this is Seth Rogen.” Another quips: “How about you put that much work into an anti-cheat?”
One player also accuses Activision of doing everything except fixing the game. There is also once again the accusation that certain skins ruin the game: “They have completely ruined this game. I mean, you have unicorns and Ninja Turtles in it.” However, the criticism is nothing new. On the contrary, according to a well-known leaker, Activision knows that new skins make the game look silly.
Seth Rogen as the face of the new stoner event
What is this skin actually? The operator skin for Seth Rogen is part of a new “High Art” event that started on May 1, 2025, in Call of Duty.
As part of the event, there is a new event pass through which buyers can receive the “Seth Rogen” operator skin. Seth Rogen is a comedian and actor known for several roles where he plays a cannabis user – such as in Pineapple Express.
The “High Art” event is a belated celebration of April 20 (in the US date format 4/20). The number 420 is commonly used to signify cannabis consumption, and April 20 is a sort of holiday for consumers.
Recently, there was a lot of criticism from the CoD community regarding a new bundle that can now be purchased in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The bundle not only contains an absurd-looking skin but also an emote that many players see as a pay-to-win mechanic: New bundle in Call of Duty comes with a special mechanic, players are convinced at once: This is pay-to-win
