This is how FL4K was changed: In Borderlands 3, there have been recent updates that adjusted the skills of the four classes. For FL4K, the adjustments went in two directions.
In a first update the Beastmaster was nerfed. This mainly affected the popular Crit-Build for FL4K. Effectively, the following changes were made:
- The skill “Fade Away” now only cloaks FL4K for 6 instead of 8 seconds.
- The bonus on critical hits from shots while in Fade Away is reduced from 50% to 25%.
In a further update, other abilities of the Beastmaster were buffed:
- “Rak Attack” now has a 100% chance to apply a status effect.
- “Leave No Trace” received an inherent cooldown of 2 seconds.
- The stat bonus from “Barbaric Roar” was increased by 100%.
Based on these changes, new possibilities for FL4K builds arise. We present one variant here.
FL4K Rakk Build – the Skill Trees
What does this FL4K build focus on? This build is particularly suited for players who want to deal a lot of damage with the help of FL4K’s pets. It is based on using the skill “Rak Attack” as often as possible while also dealing a lot of damage themselves.
Rak Attack allows you to unleash a horde of Rakks on your enemies, which also apply a status effect. You can, for example, hold off from a distance to deal additional damage – perhaps with a sniper rifle.
FL4K Skill Tree in the Hunter Tree
These skills do you need in the Hunter Tree: From the Hunter Tree, you should grab the action skill “Rak Attack”. With the upgrade “The Whole Herd”, the Rakks swarm gets larger. “Rakk Star” shortens the cooldown and adds another charge. The following skills fit well:
- Interplanetary Stalker
- Hunter’s Eye
- Double Trouble
- Big Game
- Dangerous Game
- Grim Harvest
- Galactic Shadow
- Megabeast
These skills give you various bonuses to the damage you inflict. In particular, critical hits are amplified. “Dangerous Game” increases your damage when you take out Badass enemies or stronger foes, such as the Anointed. The build can be very helpful in the endgame.
FL4K Skill Tree in the Stalker Tree
These skills do you need in the Stalker Tree: From the Stalker Tree, you will also gather several skills. Specifically, the following:
- Raging Assault
- Your Favorite
- Overclocked
- Lick Wounds
- Get Lost
- Quick and Fluffy
Most of these skills are meant to help you stay alive longer. They provide health regeneration, and your pet can serve as a lifesaver in emergencies. With “Your Favorite”, you also reduce the cooldown for “Rak Attack” when you or your pet get kills.
FL4K Skill Tree in the Master Tree
These skills do you need from the Master Tree: You won’t have many points left. So, from the Master Tree, grab the skill “Persistent Hunter”. It increases your weapon damage and the action skill duration. The Rak Attack will thus become even stronger. Additionally, we have chosen the Skag as a pet to further increase the damage.
What weapons should I choose? In general, this build is very suitable for long-range combat, but other weapons are also useful. If you have already found anointed weapons for FL4K, see if you can snag more weapon bonuses for “Rak Attack”.
