In Borderlands 3 you can give the Vault Hunters a new, spooky look thanks to the “Spooky Surprise”.
This is the Spooky Surprise: During the Borderlands Show, Gearbox announced not only the new Maliwan Takedown Update. The “spooky surprise” announced during the Anniversary Event is also now available.
There is a new head for each of the Vault Hunters. They are also quite spooky, inspired by Bloody Harvest and are perfect for going on a loot hunt in the event.

Who gets which head? Each of the Vault Hunters can get one of the spooky Halloween heads.
- Zane becomes a werewolf
- FL4K gets the Frankenstein head
- Amara becomes a skeleton with a cap
- Moze becomes a horror clown
Here’s how you get the heads: To unlock the heads, you only need to redeem the following Shift code.

You can redeem the code until November 4th. The heads are completely free and can be used by anyone. They also likely mark the end of the Borderlands Anniversary Event. The heads are listed as the last item on the roadmap – the “Spooky Surprise” is likely completed.
What’s next for Borderlands: The weekly birthday events are currently finished, but the Bloody Harvest event is still ongoing until December 5th. Additionally, two bonuses from Mayhem on Twitch will remain and the Maliwan Takedown begins at the end of November.
So there’s quite a bit to look forward to in the future. And the DLCs are also coming:
