In Borderlands 3, many new updates are coming soon. Among other things, the level cap is being raised – and a new event is also coming.
This is the new level cap: The maximum level in Borderlands 3 will be increased. As Gearbox announced today in the Borderlands Show, you will soon be able to level up your Vault Hunters by three additional levels. The level cap will then be at 53.
With each level, your Vault Hunters will receive new skill points that you can invest in strong builds.
In addition, Gearbox announced that they will bring further increases in the future, all of which will be available as free updates. Therefore, there will be no need to buy DLCs to raise the level.
However, the increase in maximum level also means that you will have to farm some of your best weapons in Borderlands 3 to the highest level again.
Event, Cutscenes, Mayhem 2.0 – Everything new in 2020
When is the new level cap coming? The new level cap will be introduced with the new Valentine’s Day event “Heartbreak Day”. Gearbox did not announce an exact date.
However, since Valentine’s Day is this Friday, it seems likely that the event will come at the usual patch time this Thursday.
Events are toggleable – Player wish fulfilled
What else does the event bring? The one-week event will provide you with new weapons and cosmetics in Borderlands 3, among other things. You can shoot various hearts that fly around similarly to the Bloody Harvest ghosts to secure different bonuses.
New is, however, that you can now turn event content on and off. According to Gearbox, this was also one of the wishes they wanted to fulfill for the players. So if you don’t want to see hearts, you can simply turn off the event.
Finally Skip Cutscenes in Borderlands 3
More content: Apart from the event, Borderlands 3 will receive several other updates with the big February patch. These include:
- Skippable cutscenes: This feature has been long requested by players – especially for replaying the story.
- Deactivatable Guardian Rank Perks: You will soon be able to manually disable perks from your ranks to make the challenge harder. The system will also be further expanded.
- Mayhem 2.0: After Mayhem 4, the Mayhem mode will receive another overhaul. However, this is more of a topic for March, the developers explained.
- True Elimination Mode: After Maliwan Takedown now scales to your group size, the original challenge should not be lost. The “True Elimination Mode” presents the original challenge for 4 max-level players that you can freely choose.
When is the new DLC coming? After the Moxxi’s Heist DLC, many players are waiting for the next expansion. When it will come has not yet been revealed. However, the next DLC will be presented at PAX East on February 27. So new information should be available then on what happens next in Borderlands 3.
We will report about it on MeinMMO.
