For many years, fans had to wait, but now Borderlands 3 has been officially announced at the ongoing PAX East. MeinMMO has the first information, screenshots, and the official trailer for you.
After almost four and a half years of waiting since the last installment (The Pre-Sequel), it is finally here: Gearbox and 2K have officially announced Borderlands 3.
In the past few days, some snippets including a teaser were released, and with the newly released trailer, eager players get to see even more footage.
Here is the reveal trailer for Borderlands 3
This is the first proper trailer for Borderlands 3: While the teaser was relatively vague, the first proper trailer finally provides concrete details:
When is the release date for Borderlands 3? Gearbox did not reveal anything at PAX East. No release date is known yet. It will probably be released in the upcoming fiscal year, which for 2K means by no later than March 31, 2020.
We can expect more detailed information from Gearbox on April 3, as the developer announced via Twitter.

The platforms on which Borderlands 3 will be released have not been mentioned either. However, it is likely that the new installment will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
What does the new trailer reveal about Borderlands 3? Borderlands 3 will take place several years after the events of Borderlands 2, on Pandora, the setting of the second part.
Many familiar characters are included, including those from the Telltale games of Borderlands.

Moxxi and her bar will also be present, just like Tiny Tina, who is now no longer tiny, but rather grown-up.
Alongside Lilith, the four new Vault Hunters and the two presumed villains are also visible.

What else was there to see? Besides the various familiar faces, there was also plenty of loot to see.
According to its own statement, 1 billion weapons are supposed to be found in the game (yes, even some that have legs).

Notably, the many symbols of the weapon company Maliwan were displayed. It could play an important role in the story of Borderlands 3.
For your memory: The villain from the second part, Handsome Jack, was the head of the weapon company Hyperion. Coincidence?
