The game series Diablo has been around for several years. However, the titular boss enemy has been keeping a low profile in recent years. The demon lord made his last appearance in Diablo 3, which was first released in 2012. Now the powerful adversary is set to return – but not in the game you’re probably hoping for.
What we know about the return of Diablo: Diablo, the Lord of Terror, will return to Sanctuary on December 13, 2024. However, not in the current main game of the series, Diablo 4, but in the Mobile Game Diablo Immortal, which has been controversially received by many players.
Blizzard promises the “biggest and worst boss battle” of the game so far and aims to initiate the narrative climax of the 2.5-year story of Diablo Immortal with an “epic decision battle.”

In contrast, Diablo 4 is actually the big new title of the popular franchise. As it is a main series game, players pay full price to be able to play it on their consoles or gaming PCs. The same applies to large expansions like Vessel of Hatred.
Overall, players expect regular large content updates for Diablo 4. They desire new classes, dungeons, systems, and bosses – in short, content that keeps them engaged. What else is coming? Diablo will appear as part of the Destroyed Sanctuary
update in Diablo Immortal. In addition to the Lord of Terror, you can look forward to a new zone called “World Crown,” where some familiar enemies from the Diablo series are expected to wait – including a boss from Diablo 1.
Additionally, new challenge dungeons will be introduced that will impose random modifiers on you and promise additional rewards. Furthermore, the Reliquary of Hell will be expanded with new boss fights.
