The highly anticipated action game Elden Ring has finally received its first gameplay trailer and a release date. The information was shared during the Summer Game Fest.
When is Elden Ring released? The latest trailer for Elden Ring revealed the release date. The game will be released on January 21, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and digitally for PC.
You can watch the trailer with the first gameplay here:
What is Elden Ring? The game is an action RPG from the SoulsBorne creators, FromSoftware. In the story, you take on the role of a “Tarnished” and travel through a land ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal. Elden Ring, the source of the Eldtree, has been shattered.
The children of Marika, all demigods, have claimed the shards of the ring for themselves and gained new powers. They ignited a war that ravaged the world and can only be stopped by you.
In the open world of Elden Ring, you will travel both on foot and on horseback. The combat system will remind players of the Dark Souls games. There are several boss battles and also sequences that look like PvP duels.
The atmosphere of Elden Ring also seems to be classically in the style of the Dark Souls series. The trailer shows a bleak world full of ruins, dying nature, and wandering corpses.
George R. R. Martin is working in a supportive role on the story and game world. Martin is known as the author of the book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” on which the series “Game Of Thrones” is based.
