Ark: Survival Evolved brings the big update v251 in time for Thanksgiving. The update not only includes the Turkey Trial, but also permanent emotes, new caves, and new dinosaurs. Additionally, you will soon be able to enter Breeding Phase 3.
Wildcard is introducing a few new dinos with the new update. Starting from November 23, you can encounter Achatina, Megalosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, and Moschops in the wild. The Thanksgiving update will also kick off a second round of the big Turkey Trial. So far, not many details about the event are known.
It is certain that the Thanksgiving event has a new challenge in store for you, as well as new cosmetic items. The event will also introduce ARK’s first emotes – these will not disappear after the turkey hunt is over. Jeremy Stieglitz from Wildcard has personally promised that the emotes will remain permanently in the game after players unlock them.
Turkey Trial – What lies behind ARK’s Dino Turkey
The Super Turkey is a wild bird that appears only during the Turkey Trial. You can obtain the Wishbone from it to create a hat skin, namely the Chieftain Hat. Be careful! You will not get the Wishbone if you harvest the carcass. You have to check its inventory.
The turkeys roam aimlessly in the game, similar to Dodos. If you attack a turkey, it will fight back. Don’t underestimate the cute appearance of the turkey, as it is a strong beast that can easily kill you! Nearby creatures will either intervene in the fight or flee, depending on their temperament.
Start of the Turkey Trial Event: “Turkey Trial 2” starts for Xbox on November 16, 2016, and for PC on November 23, 2016.
