The world's largest fanfiction website Archive of Our Own is down for two to four weeks. MeinMMO presents four alternatives. Wattpad is not for everyone, but there are also great fanfiction here.
Die-hard fanfiction readers will groan now, but failing to mention the site in a list of alternatives to AO3 is not an option: Wattpad.com.
Here, too, authors can publish their stories and make them available to readers. Unlike Fanfiction.net, the site also has a good app, which ensures you always have reading material on the go.
However, compared to the other sites, Wattpad doesn’t fare too well: On the one hand, it is often said that the suggestion algorithm is very poor. On the other hand, Wattpad runs advertisements and monetizes the works of authors who upload their pieces here.
You may not like Wattpad, but you definitely need an account, which can be created for free.
