Publisher Kakao Games has addressed the planned release periods of 9 projects that are expected to be released in 2026 in its latest financial report. Included are: ArcheAge Chronicles and Chrono Odyssey.
What does the publisher reveal? The upcoming game lineup from Kakao Games looks as follows, with ArcheAge Chronicles and Chrono Odyssey likely to be of particular interest to Western MMORPG fans:

What stands out compared to previous financial reports from Kakao Games: ArcheAge Chronicles was originally set to be released in the first half of 2026 and has now been slightly postponed. The new release window is between July and September.

Chrono Odyssey is still focused on 2026
What about Chrono Odyssey? Since August 2025, it has been clear that the first MMORPG from Chrono Studio will not be released this year as originally planned. The summer test revealed too many issues that need to be fixed before launch. The previously communicated release window at the end of 2026 is now confirmed by the latest financial report.
However, since the postponement, there has been silence from the developers. Aside from some light-hearted social media posts, not much is happening on the official channels. At least, Chrono Odyssey has managed to climb to 12th place among the most wanted games on Steam.
What does the MMORPG year 2026 look like? The recent bad news regarding the new MMORPG based on Lord of the Rings and the planned MMORPG based on Warhammer do not directly concern the year 2026 (they would have been released much later).
In the coming year, we can not only look forward to Chrono Odyssey and ArcheAge Chronicles, but also many other online role-playing games.
