In ARC Raiders, there are some robots that can set you ablaze with nasty fire attacks. However, there is a trick to simply ignore the flames.
What is this trick? You can apparently withstand a fire attack in ARC Raiders if you literally dance around the attacking ARC.
As Reddit user Mysterious_Clerk_253 shows in a video, his Raider takes no damage from a fire attack while executing dance moves. When the fireball launched its attack, it initially damaged the Raider’s shield and took away some health points. But as soon as he started swinging his hips, the fire could no longer harm him.
How can you even dance? To dance in ARC Raiders, you need to perform the corresponding emotes. There are now several dance emotes like the “Show Dance” or the “Lucky Dance”. While the “Show Dance” is included in the standard repertoire of all players and can be easily equipped, the “Lucky Dance” had to be unlocked through the Trials of Season 1.
If you want to perform one of the dances in the game, you need to open the emote wheel and select it. If you currently have no dance in your emote wheel, you can add it in the customization menu before a raid under “Emotes”.
Is it useful? Yes, it can be helpful when you can no longer evade attacks from ARCs like the fireball or even the dangerous firefly, but it has a clear downside: The immersion of the game suffers, and you suddenly feel like you’re in High School Musical.
Furthermore, this is probably not intended by the developers and is expected to be fixed soon. If you want to play the game in the intended way, you should refrain from the trick.
This is how the community reacts: Many players are humorous on Reddit. One user calls it the “Safety Dance”, while another acknowledges the considerable amount of explosives that apparently exists in the small fireball from the video.
However, dancing will not save your life against the new vaporizer, a powerful flying ARC. One Raider showed how you can take down the robot – if you have the necessary skill: The new robot in ARC Raiders pulverizes players, but a lone wolf has found a way to dismantle the flying monster.
