Apex Legends provides a foundation for crazy situations and epic plays. Our author Benedict has experienced some quirky moments during his many hours of gameplay that have particularly stuck in his memory.
Since Apex Legends got its Season 1, I have been playing significantly less. Many may know this, as the Battle Pass was not well received by many players. Nevertheless, there are still moments in Apex Legends that are simply spectacular.
In my case, three moments have particularly stuck in my head, which I experienced with a full squad. Apex Legends works fine alone, but it’s just more fun together, as I want to show you here.
Right in the face!
This is shown by the moment: Fists are quite decent weapons, even if the opponents possess shotguns and light machine guns. However, schadenfreude should not distract from the game.
So was the situation: My first, really cool situation happened quite early on in Apex Legends. It has remained in my memory the whole time because it is simply so absurd and only gets more absurd.
One of my colleagues ran into an entire squad. In the heat of battle, neither the opponents nor my buddy managed to hit anything, despite good weapons like Spitfire and Peacekeeper being involved. But even the right weapons do not help in the greatest panic.
This was the special moment: As he called for help in a panic, I came unarmed, only with my fists, to the shooting. However, the opponents ignored me, and while they grappled with my colleague, I could knock out all three with just my bare fists.
Unfortunately, we laughed so hard afterward that we didn’t notice how another squad first took out both of us, then our third colleague.

Death Zone: Bunker
This is shown by the moment: Those landing in popular drop zones should really pay attention.
So was the situation: In a game several days or even weeks later, with significantly more experience, we finally wanted to try a more difficult starting point, the bunker, but before its nerf.
We landed there without paying attention to who else landed there, as we did not expect more than one or two squads.
Our team consisted of the legends Pathfinder, Bangalore, and Gibraltar. To my left, Bangalore was running, and to my right, another Bangalore was running. I first noticed something was wrong when a Pathfinder was also trotting in front of me, who should actually have been me.
This was the special moment: In the end, we did not encounter two but seven squads in the bunker. What began as a skirmish with a few players turned into a massacre with almost half of all teams. Two of them we took out through doors, just like pro Shroud, while others simply fell in the hail of bullets.
Due to lack of ammunition, however, a final squad eventually came and cleaned up the bunker.
- That was noobish of me: I did not pay attention to my surroundings and blindly jumped into a mass battle.
- Here’s how to do it: Pay attention to other teams that are also landing and keep yourself out of massive gunfights at the beginning. Even if you win, a victory is usually short-lived.
No way “Mozambique is trash”
This is shown by the moment: Even a Mozambique can be strong if used at the right moment.
So was the situation: Another experienced buddy and I played with a friend who has not logged many hours in Apex Legends. We landed again in the slums, and there was only one other squad aside from us. We took out two players. The third was a Bangalore.
She kept us busy for a good two minutes with her smoke bombs and her passive speed boost and even knocked me down. We couldn’t catch her with automatic weapons or fists, even though she was unarmed.
This was the special moment: As we desperately whined in Discord, our third colleague finally arrived and took her out with a shot from the supposedly bad Mozambique in the fog.
