BioWare is continuing to work on getting Anthem back on track. With a series of job postings, they want to hire new employees to address the biggest criticisms from players.
What are they looking for? BioWare recently posted several job listings for new employees to help with Anthem. The potential new hires will primarily be deployed where players have voiced the most criticism:
- Loot
- Items
- In-game store
- Rewards
- Combat system

Loot is to be revised: The loot in Anthem is frequently discussed among players. Now BioWare wants to hire a new Senior Systems Designer who is apparently going to revamp the loot system. The tasks of the new designer are expected to include the following work:
Building a truly great, server-side loot system that is scalable, offers modern concepts like Streak-Breaking (a mechanic where players who have previously had no luck have a higher chance of loot next time), and easily adjustable data formats. A great loot system ensures that players have predictable experiences that can be supported by data.

Recently, Anthem released an update that allowed players to receive loot for the “right” Javelins.
This is what the players say: Some players have expressed skepticism about the job postings. Some believe it is purely PR, while others question why they are only now looking for new employees and did not do so prior to the launch.
Other players welcome BioWare’s move and see it as a commitment and dedication. The search for new employees means for them that Anthem has not been abandoned and does not share the same fate as Mass Effect: Andromeda. Planned DLCs for Andromeda were canceled after much criticism and mediocre sales just five months after the release, and the game was consequently not further supported.
New content for Anthem is expected soon, which will be shown in the next livestream:
