8 classes are available to you at the global launch of Aion 2. But which classes are the best for PvE endgame? MeinMMO summarizes the most important points in the tier list.
What is this tier list? We have already provided you with an overview of all classes and revealed which archetypes are beginner-friendly. Here, however, we are looking at the endgame potential of the 8 classes. We focus on the PvE area and distinguish between the 3 roles: tank, healer, and damage dealer.
Important: Aion 2 is not an MMORPG where tanks contribute little to the overall damage and healers only cast their life-regenerating spells. Everyone in the team deals damage and unleashes a veritable barrage of attacks on their targets. Nevertheless, it is only logical that tanks and healers do not match the damage output of pure offensive specialists.
Aion 2 Tier List for Damage
S-Tier
- There is no class that excels over all others in every PvE situation
A-Tier
- Assassin: The agile dagger-wielders have the highest burst potential in Aion 2. The shorter a fight, the greater their damage per second becomes. However, in longer boss fights, other offensive specialists eventually outpace assassins. Additionally, the melee fighter has the lowest margin for error in the game and must be positioned behind the target to deal maximum damage.
- Sorcerer: The spellcasters have what it takes to secure a spot in the top 3 in most PvE combat situations. In short fights, only assassins are more explosive; in longer raid encounters, they can dominate. They struggle the most in movement-heavy fights, as they must briefly stand still for their most important spells. Additionally, they are not particularly resilient.
- Spiritmaster: To maximize your summoner’s potential, you should not limit yourself to just one companion but rotate them. Moreover, the spellcaster must monitor several effects, which might deter beginners. However, this class has the potential for high damage output, combined with important debuffs and crowd control. It takes just a few moments for the summoner to get rolling.
- Ranger: Rangers are the Swiss army knife of Atreia: easy to play, very mobile, and above average damage in all situations. At launch, there is no better class for farming in the open world. What they lack are the absolute top DPS values in the endgame.
- Gladiator: The offensive melee fighter can deal very high damage, especially if he can consistently hit multiple targets without interruption. Additionally, he is much more robust than the assassin. However, against single bosses, he usually lands outside of the respective top rankings.
B-Tier
- Templar: Delivers solid damage output, but cannot compete with the offensive specialists. However, the Templar provides an important buff to increase the damage of allies. Groups never include the Templar as a damage dealer, but always as a tank.
- Chanter: The support class from Aion 2 must engage in close combat to maximize its potential. The surprisingly solid damage combined with strong group buffs makes the bard particularly attractive in familiar content that you are farming – as a substitute for the weaker cleric. Since the key buff of the two healing classes does not stack, groups rarely bring both classes.
C-Tier:
- Cleric: The best clerics prove themselves in Aion 2 by keeping their allies alive while also contributing a noticeable amount of damage. Although this is less than all other classes, it is high enough to be relevant. However, no one brings a cleric just for damage.

Aion 2 Tier List for Tanks
S-Tier
- Templar: Generates the highest threat values in Aion 2 and provides stronger offensive and defensive buffs than the Gladiator. Additionally, Templars avoid a lot of incoming damage. Therefore, this class is number 1 when it comes to filling the tank slot for tough dungeons or raids.
A-Tier
- Gladiator: Can take on the tank role if no Templar is available. The generated threat is slightly lower, the group buff is weaker than that of the tank competition, but the damage is higher. Gladiators do not rely on shields like the Templar, but provide supportive self-healing.
Aion 2 Tier List for Healers
S-Tier
- Cleric: If you want to include the strongest healer in the game for your group, you cannot overlook the cleric. He has the largest selection of healing and protection spells and can resurrect players in battle.
A-Tier
- Chanter: Less healing, stronger buffs for the group – this is how the bard can be classified compared to the cleric when it comes to the healer role. In the endgame, most experienced bards even use only one active healing spell (Recuperation).
The Perfect Group in Aion 2
As all classes have their own strengths and weaknesses and offer special buffs, the meta in Aion 2 tends to favor a diverse group composition. Class stacking, i.e., stacking a single dominant class, is not an issue in the endgame of the MMORPG.
For new, likely challenging 5-player challenges, we recommend combining:
- Templar (Tank)
- Cleric (Healer)
- Assassin, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, or Ranger (Damage dealer, include 3 of these 4 classes)
For already known content that you want to clear as quickly as possible, the following setup is rather appropriate:
- Gladiator (Tank)
- Chanter (Healer)
- Assassin (Damage dealer, due to its burst potential)
- Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, or Ranger (Damage dealer, include 2 of these 3 classes)
In 10-player raids, you can easily include every archetype. The remaining two slots are best filled by additional DPS specialists. Which class will you choose for the global launch of Aion 2? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
In the Korean version of Aion 2, there is already a ninth class, the Brawler. He uses combat gloves and deals high melee damage.
