Aion 2: Tier List – The best classes in PvE for Tank, Healer, and Damage

8 classes are available to you at the global launch of Aion 2. But which classes are the best for PvE endgame? MeinMMO summarizes the most important points in the tier list.

Aion 2 Tier List for Damage

S-Tier

• None
  • There is no class that outshines all others in every PvE situation.

A-Tier

• Assassin
  • The agile dagger-wielders have the highest burst potential in Aion 2. The shorter a fight, the greater their damage per second. However, in longer boss fights, other offensive specialists gradually overtake assassins. Additionally, the melee damage dealer has the lowest margin for error in the game and must stand behind the target to maximize damage.
• Wizard
  • The spellcasters have what it takes to secure a spot in the respective top 3 in most PvE combat situations. In short fights, only assassins are more explosive; in longer raid encounters, they can dominate. They struggle the most in movement-intensive fights since they need to stop briefly to cast their most important spells. They are also not very durable.
• Summoner
  • If you want to maximize your summoner, you should not rely on just one companion but rotate them. Additionally, the spellcaster must keep track of several effects. This might deter beginners. However, the class has the potential for high damage values, combined with important debuffs and enemy control. It just takes a few moments for the summoner to get rolling.
• Ranger
  • Rangers are the Swiss army knife of Atreia: easy to play, very mobile, and above average damage in all situations. At launch, there is no better class for farming in the open world. What is missing are the absolute top DPS values in the endgame.
• Gladiator
  • The offensive melee fighter can achieve very high damage values, especially when he can hit multiple targets without interruption. Additionally, he is much more robust than the assassin. However, in single boss encounters, he usually ends up outside the respective top placements.

B-Tier

• Templar
  • Delivers solid damage values, but cannot keep up with the offensive specialists. However, the templar brings an important buff to increase the damage of teammates. Groups never pack the templar as damage dealer but always only as a tank.
• Cantor
  • The support class of Aion 2 must engage in melee to bring out the most of itself. The surprisingly solid damage in combination with strong group buffs makes the cantor especially attractive in familiar content that you are just farming – as a replacement for the offensively weaker cleric. Since the most important buff of the two healing classes does not stack, groups rarely take both classes.

C-Tier:

• Cleric
  • The best clerics prove themselves in Aion 2 by keeping their allies alive while still making a noticeable damage contribution. This contribution, although lower than all other classes, is high enough to be relevant. However, no one takes a cleric just for damage.

Aion 2 Tier List for Tanks

S-Tier

• Templar
  • Generates the highest threat values in Aion 2 and provides stronger offensive and defensive buffs than the gladiator. Additionally, templars avoid some incoming damage. Thus, the class is number 1 when it comes to filling the tank role for tough dungeons or raids.

A-Tier

• Gladiator
  • Can take on the tank role when no templar is present. The generated threat is slightly lower, the group buff is weaker than the tank competition, however, the damage is higher. Gladiators do not rely on shields like the templar but provide self-healing support.

Aion 2 Tier List for Healers

S-Tier

• Cleric
  • If you want the strongest healer in the game for your group, you can’t go past the cleric. He has the greatest selection of heals and protective spells and can resurrect players in combat.

A-Tier

• Cantor
  • Less healing, stronger buffs for the group – this is how the cantor can be classified compared to the cleric regarding the role of healer. In the endgame, most experienced cantors even use only one active heal (Recuperation).



The Perfect Group in Aion 2

Since all classes have their own strengths and weaknesses and provide special buffs, the meta in Aion 2 tends to favor a diverse group composition. Class stacking, meaning stacking one dominant class, is not a topic in the endgame of the MMORPG.

For new, expectably tough 5-player challenges, we recommend the combination of:

• Templar (Tank)
• Cleric (Healer)
• Assassin, Wizard, Summoner, or Ranger (Damage dealer, take 3 of these 4 classes)

For previously known content, through which you want to pass as quickly as possible, the following setup is more recommended:

• Gladiator (Tank)
• Cantor (Healer)
• Assassin (Damage dealer, due to his burst potential)
• Wizard, Summoner, or Ranger (Damage dealer, take 2 of these 3 classes)

Aion 2 Tier List for PvP

S-Tier

• Gladiator
  • High damage, good mobility, control abilities, self-healing, and can take a lot – the gladiator is a devastating melee fighter in Aion 2 PvP.
• Assassin
  • Combination of extremely high mobility, stealth, and the deadliest burst of all classes in Aion 2. However, it forgives no mistakes and is significantly more fragile than the gladiator – a class for experienced pros. Has trouble delivering damage to the enemy or surviving the attack in mass battles.

A-Tier

• Wizard
  • Strong burst damage at range and strong in mass battles when he can cast undisturbed. However, he must channel important spells over time, making him susceptible to control effects and melee fighters standing on the wizard’s feet.
• Ranger
  • High mobility combined with great range and traps. However, he needs strong equipment for competitive damage.
• Summoner
  • Strong control and damage effects that torment enemies over time. Can clean enemy buffs. However, it takes some time for him to get going.

B-Tier

• Cleric
  • The best healer in PvP, but often cannot do much against the enormous burst damage of opponents in mass battles.
• Templar
  • Very resilient, can pull enemies close, but needs the support of damage experts to finish off his victims.
• Cantor
  • Powerful auras and buffs help the group, plus solid damage, some healing, and control effects. Therefore, he is very popular in mass battles, but rather weak in 1v1 duels.
