In Helldivers 2, players step into the role of humans who must prove themselves against robots and bugs in the galaxy. One player, however, wants to betray his race and has devised a plan on how to best achieve this.
What kind of player is this? In the Reddit forum for Helldivers 2, a post recently went viral discussing not shooting at every enemy and trying to combat the horde for a long time without a target.
In the comments, however, a user shared about his friend who seemingly switched sides. He planned, tested, and designed how to best lure his teammates into a trap to let the enemies take them out.
Here you can watch the trailer for the new war bond “On the Edge of a Blade”.
The player lures innocent Helldivers into a trap
What is the player’s plan? The anti-Helldiver uses an SOS beacon to lure innocent Helldivers to his mission. Once they arrive, the player begins attacking all enemies he can find with the laser pistol. According to his friend, the laser pistol has almost infinite range and does very little damage.
Hostile patrols are drawn to the position of the group and attack the innocent Helldivers. The player continues this strategy, drawing more and more enemies to lead the Helldivers, who only wanted to help him, to their deaths.
His friend wrote on Reddit: “The absolute chaos he brings to me and the two unfortunate strangers who follow his SOS call is breathtaking.”
What does the community say about the anti-Helldiver? Reddit user SethFeld finds it funny and writes on Reddit: “Dude, that is so sadistic!”
makesterriblejokes stays in character and responds on Reddit: “This is what happens when a Helldiver goes insane from war. Good thing the Geneva Convention doesn’t apply to bots and bugs!”
poor_choice_doer wants the anti-Helldiver’s contact information: “You need to get me in touch with this guy so I can run my min-maxed accidental team kill build.”
FisterRobotOh lists his team kill build underneath: “Mortar, Tesla turret, anti-personnel mines, and grenade launcher?”
While the anti-Helldiver puts innocent people in danger, the battle for the planets rages in the galaxy. The current general order is particularly difficult: In Helldivers 2, players are so good that Game Master Joel now poses them an almost insurmountable challenge
