In early 2025, Blizzard introduced new Loot Goblins to Diablo 4, which can drop various items similar to their counterparts from Diablo 3. However, one of them, Fedric, has yet to be seen by almost anyone: Players now say he might be the rarest enemy in gaming history.
What kind of enemies are they, anyway?
- Loot Goblins are commonly known enemies in Diablo. With their greedy giggles, they can be easily spotted, and you can find them somewhere collecting loot.
- Unlike almost all other enemies in Diablo, Goblins do not fight, but flee – usually through a pile of other foes. If you defeat them, they (usually) drop valuable loot.
- In March 2025, Blizzard introduced 6 new Goblins to Diablo 4 during an event, each carrying special loot. Only one of them is more of a myth.
Which Goblin is so rare? While his siblings drop plenty of gold, gem fragments, crafting materials, or oboluses, Fancy Old Fedric is guaranteed to have a Splendid Spark and a mythical item with him.
Fedric has the same color as Mythics, so purple-pink, and is among the rare Goblins the most elusive. Over the past months, there have been continuous questions from the community about whether anyone has ever seen the Goblin.
Some claim that other players have defeated him on their servers and posted their loot bags as evidence. Another says he saw him, but he escaped. Since then, he has not played again.
However, users do not provide their own images. In a recent thread, users are even sure that no enemy has ever been as rare as Fedric. One even states: Whoever claims to have seen him is probably confusing the Goblin with the similarly looking Murl.
“The Goblin is not meant for the Mythics, even if he drops them”
Since Mythics can also be farmed much more specifically from certain bosses, Fedric holds more of a cosmetic value for many players – not only to show off the kill but also because he allegedly can drop an exclusive cosmetic item.
Users on Reddit suspect it to be a mount. However, according to the description, he is said to have a “strange dog.” So, you likely will find a companion rather than a mount if you can kill him.
The hunt for the Goblins still occupies a part of the community, especially since they feel like a rare and exciting find. There are even real loot caves filled with Goblins.
Many users wish for a bit more content surrounding the Goblins. Diablo 3 handled this quite well by allowing players the chance to invade the realm of Goblins and kill Greed as a special boss. Such a secret location is still missing in Diablo 4. However, players have apparently gotten a good bit closer to the Cow Level: “Whoever figured this out must have 5000 IQ” – Players find new clues about the Cow Level in Diablo 4
