The first teaser for the new Pixar film “Gatto” not only piques the community’s curiosity, but also MeinMMO editor Caro is cautiously optimistic.
What kind of movie is it? The freshly teased Pixar film “Gatto,” which is set to be released in German cinemas on March 4, 2027, tells the story of a black cat named Nero who gets entangled in the “wrong circles” of cat society on the streets of Venice: He owes money to the local cat mafia boss Rocco, is considered an ill omen due to the superstitious town, and must somehow try not to drown in all the challenges.
In the first teaser for the film, you can already see how Nero and Rocco interrogate another cat, but are distracted by the light bulb and the three cats fall into their typical behavior pattern that so many people love about these animals:
Cats, Art Style, and Fresh Ideas Build Anticipation
How is the teaser for Gatto being received? In addition to the humor and cat theme, the art style also ensures that many are truly excited about the film. Especially this latter aspect leaves potential viewers very positive, as can be seen under the trailer on YouTube:
“A Pixar film with a unique art style? I’m on cloud nine,” writes @FlameWorksStudio. Also, @tylerplayz-robloxmore6964 thinks: “The hand-drawn 3D animations from Pixar are exactly what we needed.”
MeinMMO editor Caro is also excited about the fresh wind from Gatto:
While the first trailer for Gatto has made me, as a confessed cat fan and animation enthusiast, very curious, this curiosity is increasingly turning into true anticipation with more viewings and additional information.
Because in Gatto, Enrico Casarosa is directing, who has already completely enchanted me with the Pixar film Luca. In that film, he showed that he can create very immersive and lovingly designed places through the setting and attention to detail. Coincidentally, the stories of both places also take place in Italy, which is why I am sure that Gatto can at least catch me through its atmosphere.
While Disney was a part of my childhood, the company has lost me due to various decisions: It feels like every other movie is a quick live-action remake of a beloved film that unfortunately still manages to rake in so much money from families in theaters that probably not much will change anytime soon.
However, Gatto gives me hope that it can be successful enough to hopefully call for more new original animated films in production. If not through positive feedback, then at least through the fat money it could make.
What do you think of the teaser and Gatto as a new Pixar film? Do you want to see it too? Or are you absolutely not cat people, and then I wonder… how?
Families and children are incredibly strong moviegoers, which is why the top 10 of the box office often looks accordingly, as in 2024: One film was bigger than Dune and Deadpool in 2024, and your kids will be happy about it.
