Warning, last spoiler alert: Here there is a revelation about Makima’s true powers and who she really is.
Makima appears at the beginning of the anime Chainsaw Man as a saving figure. She helps protagonist Denji out of a predicament and offers him a new perspective as a Devil Hunter. She demands strict obedience, but in return, she provides structure and security. Denji’s boss is the perfect boss lady and doesn’t need to yell or fight to demonstrate her power.
No wonder Denji immediately falls in love with her. She seems like the perfect superior with her professional demeanor and calm charisma. In return, she rewards Denji with food, dates, and recognition. It seems as if the Devil Hunter is her lapdog. And there is a reason why Makima treats him like a pet.
She is actually the Control Devil and can subjugate anyone she believes is inferior to her. Whether you want it voluntarily or resist it, Makima would have you on her side immediately. Maybe she’ll even let you have a long leash.
