Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will soon celebrate its grand unification with Warzone. This includes weapons from CoD 2020 in the battle royale. MeinMMO shows you which guns could become the new superstars.
With the start of the first season of Black Ops Cold War on December 10, the new CoD 2020 and the battle royale Warzone are coming closer together. The developers made it clear early on that Warzone is more into open relationships and is also getting involved with the new CoDs coming out in the next few years.
How big the battle royale will actually become with the new content from the annual premium CoDs is hard to estimate today. However, the developers at Treyarch stated that it is planned to bring all weapons that appear in Cold War into Warzone. Whether this will happen all at once on December 10 or whether the new firearms will be introduced step by step is also not yet definitively clarified.
But the announcement sounds exciting and MeinMMO has picked out a few weapons from Cold War that we can well imagine as new superstars in Warzone, considering the upcoming expansion of the Warzone arsenal. Here you will find 4 weapons that you should keep an eye on. Check here if you want to know more about the merging of Warzone and Cold War.
Krig 6 – The Grau 5.56 of Cold War
In the category of assault rifles, the Krig 6 could leave a lasting impression in Warzone. In Cold War, it fires relatively slowly, delivers average damage, but has outstanding stability, especially with some attachments for better recoil control. This reminds of the Grau 5.56 from CoD MW.
The Grau was the rifle everyone used in Warzone for a while. In addition to its well-controlled character, the Grau offers a strong iron sight (iron sights), which often saved an attachment. The Krig 6 comes here with a ring sight that also plays well.
The Krig 6 could be similar to the Grau 5.56, which still has many fans in Warzone. If it offers perhaps a bit more damage than the Season 2 weapon from CoD MW, the days of the Grau may soon be over for good.
M16 & AUG – The Era of Burst Rifles
In CoD, a “burst” refers to a volley of bullets that fly towards the enemy with just one pull of the trigger. Usually, this is a burst of 3 bullets, but more or fewer bullets are also considered a “burst” (The attachment of the MP Striker 45 from CoD MW has a 2-shot burst).
However, burst weapons were rarely discussed in Modern Warfare. The only pure burst weapon here is the FR 5.56. The weapon made waves due to a powerful one-shot attachment, but otherwise remained deservingly under the radar. With the introduction of the weapons from Cold War, burst weapons could gain more focus.
In multiplayer mode, both guns, AUG and M16, perform well with top values for time-to-kill (TTK) and also offer range. The M16 is slightly more mobile, while the AUG has greater range. It’s quite possible that a new era of burst weapons is dawning in Warzone, depending on what they can retain of their strength after re-balancing for Warzone.
Currently, in Cold War, the outstanding TTK values are balanced out by the disadvantages when a burst does not hit. Because then an enemy usually knocks you out. Here are 4 reasons why you should switch to the M16 in Cold War.
Pelington & LW3-Tundra – New Sniper Tools
There are already 4 guns in Warzone that qualify as strong sniper rifles, and with the weapons from Cold War, this selection could expand to 6.
The Pelington is slightly more mobile and could be compared with the SP-R 208 and the Kar 98k. These weapons can send an enemy to the KO phase with a headshot, but if you don’t hit the chest or head, these candidates deal rather low damage.
The LW3-Tundra falls into the category of large sniper rifles, like the AX-50 and HDR in Warzone. These weapons can be equipped with attachments for great stability, allowing you to aim accurately and often hit enemies from great distances. No matter where the bullets land on the enemy, they always hurt.
You might soon have to deal with 2 new tools that will mix into the sniper category. Both definitely have the potential to hit hard in Warzone like a well-placed headshot.
December 10 will be intense for Warzone
There are still some questions unanswered regarding the introduction of weapons from Cold War into Warzone:
- Will all weapons come at once?
- Will the guns get new attachments?
- How will the developers handle balancing?
- How can I, as a beginner, then get weapons from CoD MW?
But one thing is certain: Warzone will not be the same after December 10. The weapons, the new leveling system, possibly a fresh map, new missions and killstreaks – all of this is currently in the content pipeline that will be opened with the first season of Cold War. An exciting time for all Warzone players.
The fears of some players particularly revolve around the introduction of new weapons. Just the unlocking of 2 weapons caused a lot of trouble with the start of Season 6, and now potentially around 30 new guns could come to the game at once.
It remains to be seen how this will affect the best weapons in Warzone. But it will certainly trigger some seismic activity among the meta weapons. Perhaps even a complete rethink. However, we will only know for sure when the time comes on December 10.
