The animated videos about League of Legends are very popular and often watched for a reason. MeinMMO author Linda has now dealt with them for the first time and has put together a small list for you.
Why videos about League of Legends? To be honest, I never really cared much about League of Legends. Of course, I know a little about the game, but my knowledge goes no further than what one picks up here and there on the internet.
Ever since my youth, various friends have been nagging me about how great LoL is and that I should give it a try. However, the images I saw from the gameplay never really grabbed me, which is why I never delved further into the game.
Through my work for MeinMMO, I ultimately stumbled upon some animated, official videos that piqued my interest and excited me in different ways. Above all, I was surprised at how much lore seems to be packed in League of Legends.
I didn’t expect so many different characters and especially settings when I clicked through the various videos.
Whether I will dive into League of Legends and maybe find something I enjoy in the gameplay, I don’t know. But the following videos have definitely made me take a closer look now.
1. League of Legends “Warriors” Season 2020
The animated video for Season 2020 is, to be honest, exactly what I imagined videos about League of Legends would be: a lot of fantasy and combat. Content-wise, it didn’t really surprise me, but it did convince me.
The version of the song “Warriors” used here is beautiful and sets a perfect mood that makes me empathize with the characters, even though I have no idea who I’m watching.
The video and the song, in my opinion, simply go perfectly together, and you can really see how much thought the producers put into it.
2. Shadow of the Doubt – Star Guardian 2022
In contrast to the first video, this one surprised me quite a bit.
The setting has something of a dark “Magical Girl” and honestly feels like an anime I would watch. I really liked the fight the character had with “herself” and the animations are beautifully done.
All in all, what convinced me about the video is that it’s completely different from everything I always imagined about League of Legends. And this sparked my interest in finding out how these “Magical Girls” fit into the world of League of Legends.
3. The Curse of the sad Mummy
As I clicked through the videos, I least expected to almost cry. This little mummy definitely managed to do that with the music video.
The story the video tells is simply sad. The little, lonely mummy sets out on a journey to finally find friends. I was hoping all along that she would at least find one friend at the end, but I was painfully disappointed.
Probably, with a title like “The Curse of the sad Mummy,” I shouldn’t have expected anything else, but I hoped nonetheless. The despair of the little mummy already somewhat broke my heart, and then learning in the comments under the video that the curse is to blame for everything didn’t help at all.
4. Get Jinxed
Getting past Jinx was probably completely impossible in recent years for good reason. And I think for good reason. Jinx definitely seems to be a fun character, and after this short music video, I can already understand the hype around her.
She gives off a certain “Harley Quinn” energy at least in the video, and I personally quite like that. And even though she only seems wacky and chaotic in the video, loving explosions and gunfights, it seems in a subtle way that there is much more behind her character.
Getting to know Jinx and her story better is definitely now at the top of my “to-do list.”
5. Fire to the Fuse
The last video especially impressed me with the music.
I’m a fan of the Chinese singer Jackson Wang myself and didn’t even realize he made a song for League of Legends. So I was a bit pleased to stumble upon a video with his music.
Furthermore, I find the whole video very well made, with the colors and effects used here. The video has a very small and short storyline, but it is well-written nonetheless.
