The Warzone originally appeared as a game mode for Modern Warfare. However, it is now playable as a Free2Play version and is also linked to the new Call of Duty: Cold War. We have explained how this works here.
The Highlights of CoD Warzone
Warzone offers some unique features compared to other battle royale games:
- The player count is slightly higher than usual with 150 players.
- Through the Gulag, you can fight your way back into the match even if you have already been killed.
- You can buy killstreaks, special abilities such as airstrikes or a radar display, in this game mode.
- Warzone offers crossplay between different platforms.
Why you should play CoD Warzone in October
On October 7, Season 6 started in Warzone. It will be the last season to be released in conjunction with Call of Duty: Cold War. In the future, the battle royale will be linked with the new game CoD: Vanguard.
In the new season, you can expect numerous explosions and plenty of destruction on the map. Through the new battle pass, you will likely be able to unlock the newest operator “Alexander Mason”. Additionally, you can expect two new weapons:
- LAPA SM-03: A submachine gun that has never appeared in the CoD universe before
- Lever Action: a single-shot rifle from WWII and Advanced Warfare
A Halloween event is also expected during Season 6, although it has not been officially confirmed. We have summarized all the information about the new season here:
