Prime Video can be pleased! One of the new series is a huge success and celebrated the third best debut in the platform’s history. Even The Boys and Reacher can’t keep up.
Which series is it about? Off Campus premiered with 8 episodes on Prime Video and tells the love story between a music student who hates hockey and the womanizer and star center of Briar University. Sounds cheesy-romantic? However, it is extremely well received!
As variety.com reports, the series attracted 36 million viewers in just 12 days, achieving the third-best debut in Amazon Prime Video’s history. Only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout started better. Other hit series like Reacher and The Boys had fewer viewers in the first 12 days.
Those logging in from Germany currently find Off Campus at number 1 in the current series trends.
Note that Amazon does not reveal exactly how it determines viewer numbers, so it is unclear whether users are counted who only watch a few seconds of the series.

What else do I need to know about Off Campus? The series is based on the bestselling book series by Elle Kennedy. The cast includes rather unknown actors, such as Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Mika Abdalla, Stephen Thomas Kalyn, or Jalen Thomas Brooks.
The reviews on Amazon Prime Video have been very positive so far. 91 percent of reviews achieve the full 5 stars. On rottentomatoes.com, the Tomatometer stands at 93 percent and the popcorn meter at 88 percent. A second season has, unsurprisingly, already been announced.
