The Valentine’s Day event 2026 starts in Pokémon GO. It brings you some rare and powerful rewards.
What kind of event is this? Not only in the real world but also in Pokémon GO, Valentine’s Day takes place on February 14th. The corresponding event starts on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at 10:00 AM and runs until Sunday, February 15th, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
Collectors, in particular, can greatly benefit from this event, as several Pokémon with an increased shiny chance and 2 Pokémon forms that you can obtain very rarely in the game are waiting for you.
The highlights of Valentine’s Day 2026
1. Increased chance of shinys: The first highlight of the event is a total of 3 Pokémon that you can catch during the event with a higher probability of being shiny. These are the female and male Nidoran forms and Kikugi.
You can find both Nidoran variants in the wild during the event as well as in 7 km eggs. You can also find Kikugi in 7 km eggs.
2. Rare Pokémon forms: The second reason why you should not miss the event is Furfrou and Spinda. Furfrou has 9 different forms that it can take on. During the Valentine’s event, you can change it into the rare Heartcut form.
To do this, you need to select a Furfrou from your box. For 25 Furfrou candies and 10,000 stardust, you can evolve the Pokémon into the Heartcut form.
You can also obtain Pandir with the rare Heart pattern during the event. You will receive this through the free, limited-time research that is unlocked by completing the global task.
3. A lot of experience points: For each Pokémon you catch during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points. If the global challenge is completed by trainers worldwide, an even stronger XP bonus will be unlocked: 750 XP for each Pokémon you catch with a curveball.
If both bonuses work together, you can thus receive 1,500 experience points for each catch. Using a lucky egg will double the bonus again.
