From November 15 to 21, there were both positive and negative highlights. While SWTOR has presented the next major expansion in more detail, there was a lot of trouble surrounding ArcheAge . We at MeinMMO summarize all the important news for you.
What were the updates?
- New World has released the new patch 1.1. This brought several new features, including new quests, enemies, and the weapon Unheilsstulpen.
- SWTOR has introduced the expansion “Legacy of the Sith” and revealed new details about the future of the MMORPG.
- Swords of Legends Online has received its first major update with new story content.
What were the shitstorms?
- ArcheAge Unchained is now getting a subscription, even though it originally launched as a Buy2Play title.
- Blizzard’s CEO Jennifer Oneal has left the company after almost 3 months – she was paid less than her co-leader Mike Ybarra.

WoW introduces new patch, New World faces new issues
What happened with the big MMORPGs:
- WoW has new details on patch 9.2. Additionally, streamer Asmongold made fun of raids and claimed that the incentive is missing.
- New World struggled with an item dupe before the update. After the patch, new problems arose. Harvesting equipment disappeared, guilds can now prevent wars by changing names, and there were some changes that made the MMO unnecessarily harder.
- Final Fantasy XIV brings changes to PvP with Endwalker, which makes our editor Irina Moritz very happy. She has also compiled a list of things you should do before Endwalker releases.
- ESO has released a new technology that is supposed to improve performance.
- In Guild Wars 2, the new mount “Siege Turtle” was introduced in detail (via PCGamer). Additionally, the event for returning players to the Living World is still ongoing.
What happened with the small MMORPGs:
- Elyon will receive the new class Archer in early 2022 (via Twitter).
- In The Lord of the Rings Online, the first dungeons of the new expansion Fates of Gundabad opened on November 18.
- Shroud of the Avatar has released update 96 (via SOTA).
- Dungeons & Dragons Online will receive the new expansion “Isle of Dread” in 2022 (via MassivelyOP).
- Metin 2 will open new temporary servers with boosters on November 26 (via Metin2).
What happened with the MMORPGs in development:
- A new MMORPG is set to launch in Unreal Engine 5 and aims to start an alpha in December.
- Project TL, a new MMORPG in the style of Lost Ark, is expected to officially launch worldwide in 2022.
- There are new details about Scars of Honor, a game in which the community is supposed to decide everything.
- Profane, the sandbox PvP MMORPG, introduced its special element “The Mind” (via Twitter).
